I'm sure most of you could care less about soccer, but after living in Germany & Austria for several years and then for many years in soccer crazed Thailand, I've picked up an affinity for the game.
Somehow USA managed to reach the Confederations Cup final, beating Spain (one of the best teams in the world) in the semi-final to get there. Tonight (well tonight here in Bangkok, it's 2:30am at the moment) they play Brazil in the final for the trophy.
I've gathered with a bunch of my Thai friends before the game who all told me how much USA sucks at soccer and how Brazil was going to kill them. I don't take this kind of talk lightly, so I challenged 4 of them to lay some money on it... garnering rather good odds, as they all believe it is literally IMPOSSIBLE for Brazil to lose this game.
Halftime just ended, and USA is up 2-0... LOL, I think a few of these losers may have to go hit the ATM before they head home.
