I just rolled a Big Hit piece for my LB, should I take it or hold out for a monster hit piece?

Big Hit and Monster hit are essentially the same SA, with Monster Hit being the preferred option for LB's. If you do not have any AEQ that you really want to keep, get the Big Hit, but sporadically look for a better piece.

Is there no noticeable disparity in their frequency of triggering?

i recommend getting monster his because it is already in the tree. if you go with big hit you will need to find a 2nd piece with big hit for it to be effective.
i am a big believer in boosting skills you already have instead of finding new ones. JMO.

Take it for now and as the other guy said, look around for better on occasion.

I've had 9 in Monster Hit for some time and am unimpressed. I'm strongly considering selling it back and putting the added BT into Closing Speed (currently at 4 but can get it to 5 if I do this). Smart?

I bet you have no str and tackling and never play on anything but wrap up?
How close am I?

I forget where someone did a study on it but Monster Hit fired more (not a ton more though)... also doesn't Monster Hit apply an increasing morale reduction bonus as well? Big Hit simply just increases your chances of force fumbling. All I know is Big Hit fires quite often with my FS who only has it at 7.
But for a LB I would take it for now and sell it once I get a Monster Hit.
