That might actually pair well with my SA, which is strong base...

Isn't heavy weight the consensus for both NT and DT (and both pass rush and rush contain builds)?

Bump for more opinions on VAs?

I am curious WHY heavyweight....

IMO - Pass Rusher is great, and jump the snap as well.

My DE is over 100 str - so if heavyweight is something I should be interested in, I'd love to know why. Knocking someone down, is that effective? Keeps them out of the play for good?

Watch http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=185734 some if you want to see the benefits of frequent reverse pancakes.

The quickest way to the QB is running over the OT. When your DE tries to go around the OT the speed decelerates before the player needs to accelerate again, and you get a major speed penalty in change of direction. However, running straight through the OT the deceleration to acceleration is that much quicker.

But a DE with 100+ strength gets his opponents knocked down pretty frequently as is. Does the heavwwight VA trigger often enough to make it more importnat than say - jump the snap?

Do you think it takes STR into account, or just the ability to break a block in any method (agility or str)?

Another idea since I have a decently high Strong Base SA, would I even more often break blocks and reverse pancake and just steamroll all in the way?

THanks - this is good info...

Well, remember VAs are attribute boosters, not difference makers. If you already have 100+ strength and are pancaking OTs regularly like you said, then Heavy Weight probably will make little different. The same goes for Jump the Snap, if your vision is already high (say 60s) and you already get off the line with authority on every snap, there's really no reason to boost up on JTS. Might as well use those valuable VAs in other areas.

Heavyweight is king amongst the entire DL. Heavyweight, then there is a bit of a debate between which is best between Pass Rusher and Jump the Snap. Some people swear by Jump the Snap, some people say that it's unnecessary.

Has anyone seen any noticeable affect of the negative attribute in JTS? Namely - has anyone been getting called for more offsides/encroachment penalties as a result of maxing out JTS?
