Gotham (AP) -- The Gotham City Punishers ended the season on a flat note, with a 10 point loss in the cross-conference matchup with the Georgia Storm.

After showing some flashes of potential in the middle of the year, the Punishers halted progress, and are now looking forward for the next season. In a 17-27 loss to the Georgia Storm, Gotham put up a fight against the Georgia team, which boasts an impressive 12-4 record in the East. With a career performance today, Dan Miller caught 14 receptions for well over 200 yards and a pair of TD's. "It feels good to know I put my best foot forward. I can't wait for next season, we're going to dominate" Miller told the press after his performance.

Miller came onto the Gotham squad in the middle of the season, and received for nearly 1000 yards and 6 touchdowns, adding a spark to the Punishers passing game.

On the other hand, the Gotham running backs have been sore for production, ending the day with barely 60 yards on 27 carries. It's hard to be pass first offense in this day and age.

On defense, Jacob Samuels was commanding the helm, amassing 11 tackles and 4 deflections. Samuels' effort put a noticeable dent in the normally potent Storm offense, although wideout Mojo McWire still caught 2 touchdowns. "I had to pick up the slack for my team, and I did fairly well. Maybe I can get some more passes in the playoffs?" McWire joked with the press.

Coach Sack had a statuesque expression after the game, satisfied with his teams performance this game but still disappointed in a loss and an overall lackluster season. "Next year", Sack said. "We'll contend. I'm telling you now so that you're not caught by surprise."
