Should a QB be setting his #1 target or should they set no targets?

(I have a WR and I posted it in that forum but thought the guys here might know better)

I don't do any targets with my QB unless you have an INSANE WR or a GREAT match up. It's going to drop about 10% of your completions and increase your int because he'll force the ball when he shouldn't to him. Alot of the same will happen if you favor the deep ball.

Unless it's specifically gameplanned to get the ball to a certain WR there's absolutely no reason to set a favorite target. It causes the QB to stair down a target before moving on with his checks and that alone can cause an increase in incompletions and especially interceptions.
