I question how you can have enough speed, strength, agility, and SAs while contemplating 60 confidence and vision unless you're level 60.

If you're referring to the my OP, then I didn't say I had enough, I said "assuming those stats were where you wanted them". For my DT, I don't think I have enough strength or Agility but I'm not going to pay 5 or 7 or more SPs per point. As for Speed, I haven't been convinced it's worth taking higher than the 3rd cap (68). I didn't see a significant difference in performance going from 62 to 68 in fact. The SAs I'm worried about are helped by AE. So I'm trying to figure out what to work on next.

Tackling: I'm not convinced this needs to go go above the first cap for a pass rushing DT that gets into the backfield almost every play. Almost all of his missed tackles (4 last season) are caused by fakes (spin) or SAs (Power Through)
Stamina: I generally finish a game with 95+ Energy.
Vision: It's currently above 60. While I think it was certainly worth getting to 60, I'm not sure it's worth taking to 68.
Confidence: It's currently right around the first cap. I can't see the how my DT ends a game as far as morale goes so I'm not sure how valuable it would be to take this to 60.

I've found great benefit to taking speed well over 70, and high tackling has allowed me to play on power tackling. Now I just need the VA..

Can you give me an example of the benefit of speed over 70? i've heard that from other sources but honestly, I haven't seen any benefit. Seems like a gamble at 4 SPs per point.

As for tackling, with a decently high strength and a tackling in the mid 50s (I'm still training it), he missed 5 tackles last season. That was with Power Tackling set the whole season. Those misses typically took place when SAs such as Power Through proc'd and I'm not sure a higher tackling would have helped much.

I do think Tackling has more value for the NT slot though.

my issue with my future DT plans is how high to take vis/stam/confidence and when. if my build pans out the way i'm planning, str/agi/speed/tck should all be where i want them by 40 or so...but that doesn't leave a ton of room for vis/stam/conf and SAs.

just now finished that at level 48.

str speed agility are very high. shed blocks is 11. waiting for 400k to make it 12.

my tackling vision and stamina are all 50, and his confidence is 44

my confidence isn't capped and I do well
vision is in the low 50s and that's all good

tackling at 50 isn't going to cut it IMO if you want to be good at stopping the run

that gives me some confidence that i can finish it, but if you waited til past 40 to cap those did you miss out on production? from ur stats it doesn't seem like it...but i'm too lazy to look thru clips now

yes missed out on a lot of production. Plus at the heart of his career the last 3 seasons, there has been a lot of d-line nerfin.

tackling doesn't matter???? lol

not as much as you might think for a pass rusher, my level 53 DT has 54 tackling, my level 43 DT has 44 tackling, both rarely miss a tackle.

doesn't higher tackling increase your tackle radius? therefore increasing sacks?

did that twice in the last game.

and he can play on power tackling and still hardly misses tackles, even on guys who have SAs fire 2-3 times every run. doesn't cause a ton of fumbles though, cause of low vision and no points in power tackler....yet.

sure.....

what you fail to realize is that str agility speed s.a's stamina vision confidence get you there in the first place.

You make a good point.

I'm just saying that with a 69 speed, I see similar results. I'm not sure it's worth the 4 SPs for 1 point of speed at this point.

ahh. Well if you get that kind of results maybe you don't need it. I wasn't getting great results with <70 speed.
