Just to follow up, as expected playing at max. cushion (6 yds) means giving up a lot of passes in front of you. The only time I'd consider setting it at 3 or above is if you're going up against a team who's got WRs who are many levels above your CB and have a high YPC average as well: you're basically giving up the short ball in that scenario in exchange for protecting against the deep bomb. I think most of us would rather keep the CB in striking range of the WR if at all possible.

I plan on using the slider for what it's there for- sliding coverage distance. I won't get hung up on any one setting. I like to scout the opposing team's passing attack before a game. So, I'm happy that we now have personal preference in how much cushion that we want to give to WR's from game to game.

Thousands of years ago when I played CB (you know, before there were inflatable footballs and we just used a large rock encased in mammoth hide and stitched together with bison sinew) there were WR's that I gave more of a cushion to than other WR's. I think the slider change to GLB helps to simulate that. It would be nice if there was a way to have player AI's that we could adjust for when guarding a certain WR during a game, down & distance, alignment, etc... But, that would probably get way too complicated.

Loose coverage is for forcing fumbles imo.

I feel bad for all your DCs with you guys playing on 1.5. How come everyone was playing on close last season and now with no changes whatsoever, people are playing further back almost to medium coverage? You get more stats when the QB throws at your CB but i don't think that's necessarily better for the team

It's not better for your team... Unless you're playing against a blowout and you can force a fumble 1/3rd of the time.
