Does this mean having a lot of points in RR will mean a speedy WR will truly get seperation?

RR is a flat speed and agility boost so what would the opposite of that be? A speed and agility debuff the CB puts on the WR?

I think Bort meant that Shutdown Coverage gives a boost to speed and agility to the CB. I don't remember the exact quote and I'm not sure if the OP has it quoted directly.

Wouldn't more speed and agility be the counter to Shutdown coverage as well as RR?

I think what Bort meant is that RR and Shutdown do the same thing for WR and CB respectively. So to counter RR for a WR a CB uses Shutdown.

Wow some people can be idiots. here is the link

now what I have come to understand is that speed past 100 doesnt matter too much bc CBs are always going to be close. So if RR actually counteracts Shutdown then perhaps a speed WR can truly get great seperation.

No, most of the community is idiots. Take the case in point of the people who hear a rumor and turn it into fact. I don't trust most things people in the forums say and that has served me well as I have proven lots of it is unfounded. Thank you for the link. I could come on here and say that Bort said punting increases WR stride length and this makes WRs faster and people would eat that up. It is diligent to see the proof, or rather the link.

The speed past 100 thing is incorrect. I can show you plenty of examples of guys beating CBs deep. They don't do it every time, but they do it often enough. There is a dead zone between 100 and the elite speed (110+ at level 40, more as you level) where it doesn't give that much of a noticeable difference, but that is because not enough has been invested to get that extra distance from the corners. Get up to 115 and you'll beat them deep plenty if you play in that type of offense and build smartly.
