Has anyone tried putting a strong DE in the NT1 slot and subbing him in against 5WR? I'm thinking about trying that with my DE. I would think his speed and agility would be too much for a center and he's strong enough to not be pancaked.

Won't work nearly as well as a decent DT/NT.

HUGE OOP penalty. My DE was the strongest member of our D-Line a few seasons ago, so the owner put him in at NT. Despite having 7 levels and at least 10 points more in each of; Strength, speed, agility, stamina, and vision he was outperformed by an actual DT. He would also finish the games with like 30-40 snaps and at around 30 energy vs 85+ energy when playing 40-50 snaps at DE.

For some reason when ends play tackle, and tackle plays end they are severely penalized. On the other side of the coin I have a pretty good pass rushing D.T. I played him at End for a couple of games. He was sluggish, not as fast, didn't generate any pressure at all. Put him back at D.T. he turned back into the pinball I know and love.

JESUS. i thought it was something like 5%. so playing a run stopping DE at RDT in a 3-4 defense penalizes you severely. instead, playing a pass rushing 260 pounder is ideal?

seems so stupid. not that GLB is the NFL, but when the patriots switch to a 4-3, richard seymour comes inside to play DT (at 310 lbs).

it would be nice if there were tabs for the defensive depth chart for 3-4 and 4-3 so you could designate a RDT and LDT as well as an NT. erg

Yeah. IMO there really isn't a point in playing a dt at end or vise versa. It shouldn't be that way, but it seems so in GLB. I would assume that str isn't so penalized, but the speed and agility are very penalized.

how about DE at LB in a 3-4, if he has a bit of jumping for pass plays i was wondering if he would be a good run stopper. does playing out of position automatically drop you down? in the pro's some DE do well from the LB position.

The NY Giants D-line is full of DE builds including Tuck.

ok maybe i shouldn't have made the reference to real life NFL. has anyone in GLB tried DE's at LB? or do most teams have so many more LB's than DE's that it never comes up? DE's have been nerfed so bad in the last couple seasons that it kind of sucks to have one. i just wish someone would find the loophole to get them back into making big plays.

same story. D.E's at LB take a huge vision penalty and look retarded on the field.
