Since there were only a few polls replying I'll just do this instead. Thank you guys for voting, let's try to get it going next season. But here is the playoff picture. The Catamounts, Reavers, Red Raiders, Majors, Stallions, and Gamblers have been mathematically eliminated. It's been a great season guys, and every team has been a class act, it'll be a pleasure to have you guys in the league again next, and I mean that sincerely.
That leaves 10 teams. I'm going to rank them by current position, predicted finish(#), and then a bit of info, again, being as objective as possible. Also, I'm going by the tiebreaker being the win over other teams. When predicting next weeks games, I'm just going on overalls.
1(1). H-Town Hitmen
I don't see either the Hitmen or the Rangers losing the Eastern Conference game, and the Hitmen hold the tiebreaker of the Rangers. It will probably be a lock.
2(2). Missouri Partisan Rangers
Again, don't see them losing and even if they did, they hold the tiebreaker over the Sentinels and the Hitmen hold the tiebreaker over them. Solid lock here too I think.
3(3). New Brunswick Sentinels
A third place finish guarantee. As the only two loss team, whether they win or lose the next game, it doesn't matter. They hold the tiebreaker over the Humpers and the Vendetta and lose it to the Rangers and the Hitmen. Third place lock, stuck between tiebreakers.
4(4). North by Gawd Texas Tornado Humpers
They're playing a 2-13 team next week. That being said, they hold the tiebreaker over the Vendetta. I'd say it's a pretty solid lock.
5(5). Rochester Vendetta
Facing a 4-11 team next week. Lose the tiebreaker to the Humpers, and hold it over the 12th Man in case of a Rochester loss and a 12th man win. Fifth place finish.
6(7). Round Rock 12th Man
They can't advance due to tiebreakers to the Vendetta. The key threat to them is the 12th Man losing and both the $1.99s and the Voodoo winning. That would drop them into 7th place with the tiebreaker over the $1.99s and losing it to the Voodoo. It'll be a hard battle uphill against an 13-2 team. Also, hard to judge because 12th Man, Voodoo, and $1.99s have a Rock, Paper, Scissors thing going on with their tiebreakers, so we'll see.
7(8). Olympia $1.99s
Facing a tough Eastern Opponent next week. They are guaranteed a playoff spot though. Even with a loss and both the Breakers and the Heat winning, Olympia holds tiebreakers over both of them. I think they get it by the hair of their chinny chin chin, but they get in. They also hold the tiebreaker over the Voodoo.
8(6). New Orleans Voodoo
Facing a solid opponent next week, but they've got momentum on their side. However, if they lose, they have to watch out. The Heat have the tiebreaker over them, so if the Voodoo lose and the Heat win, we're going to have a situation. Again, not exactly sure how the tiebreaks work if there's a cycle, but this is my boldest prediction with the Voodoo riding momentum and shooting up to 6.
9(n/a). Jaragua Breakers
Even with the $1.99s and Voodoo losing and a Breaker win, both teams still hold the tiebreakers over the Breakers. Unless something weird with the tiebreaks happen where they somehow vault over the Heat in some sort of weird glitch jump, it is not possible for them to make the playoffs.
10(n/a). Las Vegas Heat
The Heat need to win, the Voodoo to lose, and the Breakers to lose in order for them to have a guaranteed spot. If the Heat win, and the Voodoo lose, but the Breakers win, there's the Rocks-Paper-Scissors conundrum again. They are also facing a very tough opponent at 11-4. It will have to be the perfect storm.
Well, hopefully I didn't tread on too many toes, but the playoffs are going to be very exciting. Not to mention the end of the regular season.
And guys, remember one thing: Even though we play against one another, we always cheer for the West.
WEST beats East!
