I own an Eastern Europe AAA#1 team. We were an expansion team for season 2 and relatively competitive given that we entered a league full of teams that were already in play for season 1.
In my opinion, the 3-4 defense gives your defense a lot of versatility. The blitzing packages add a new dimension to the game, but at the same time, most LBs are not built for the 3-4.
Having versatile, highly skilled LBs is vital to the implementation of this defense. This leads me to my larger point.
I am seeking highly skilled, fast, agile LBs who can not only cover the occasional slot WR but also bring a blitz. Blitzing requires quality strength and vision so you don't get pancaked or easily blocked. These two things separate aspects of the OLB position just emphasizes how important finding a quality LB is.
