funny other than a rumor that i mentioned in the first post ive not blamed the inconsistencies on cheating yet rather than come up with constructive criticism you blame gameplanning and/or cheating......of the 2 the only one my team has any control over is game planning, which is very broad and general. Now what do i take from this thread back to my D and O scouts and coordinaters? cuz i dont think "well u need to do a better job" is gonna cut it. These so called better "gameplanners" had to learn somewhere since it isn't an innate skill. is anyone who has commented on this thread a D or O "game planner" for there respective team? if so, drop some knowledge. im sure there are more people out there than just me who would like to know what to do to be a better team

Their D outplayed your D. You left men wide open. You didn't properly cover up the running gaps. They were able to hold your one RB to 2 ypc because they had guys in his grill all game long.

Don't do plays like this and wonder why you lost the game.

im not a scout or a coordinator. i manage the money...thats it. im trying to get info to take back to my team so they can plan better next season. but thanks for finally giving me some useful information.

heiny; typically I evolve a whole new AI for the playoffs....teams do pick up on things if your AI is basically the same all season. I too have been left scratching my head at some things, but what I have noticed is that the teams that adapt (in a game relatively evenly matched) will be the victor. It could be a lck of depth on your offense; or they have some ringers sitting on the bench. Break down each play and see what went wrong...either your personnel had a mismatch or there was a hole in the coverage or protection scheme.

Quickly looking at the PBP's. Clearly your opposition saw stuff that would work the last time you played and they attacked it harder this time. On the bright side your DC did make a couple of changes ... on the bad side the changes were even worse than the original failed defense for those plays. (as shown above)
On offense you just became predictable and they stuffed you.
example: I played a game today and the opposition kept running a wildcat they had good success with. I game planned for it this time and crushed them to a -65 Net Yards shutout.

rolf, you suggested that your AI was different just because it was the playoffs or because there was truth to the rumors of GLB cheats....not once did you try and take it on your own team's shoulders.
Yes, I am a D gameplanner and have been doing it since season 4. My 3 lower leveled teams I DC are a combined 51-0 so far. I'm a consultant for a Canada A team that is 17-0, DC'd a Canada AA playoff team, and got asked to DC a Canada AAA team in season 10. My minuscule trophy case consisting of only two silvers are teams I actually DC'd for. I've DC'd in every league tier from BBB to AAA. So, to answer you insinuation that I've never gameplanned, you are wrong.
But since you decided to rescind your accusations, here's some advice. I learned by reading the forums and from those that have done it longer than me. I've learned by making contacts with some higher end DCs who are nice guys and answer my questions, but I had to put the effort in. There are lots of guides that tell you how to set up AI inputs and how to scout, but you have to put in the leg work. Coming in here and expecting others to watch your pbp's to tell you what you did wrong is a) not likely to happen and b) cheating you out of the learning opportunity of figuring it out for yourself. By watching film and figuring out what went wrong or what a team did to beat you is a huge step towards becoming a coordinator. If you didn't change your AI from the last time you played them (this is an assumption) then watch the game where they shut you down. See what they did successfully in the second game, and then go back and watch the first game to see why they did those things. Look at where you left yourself vulnerable and what they did to attack it.
If you're at the point of coordinating where you cannot self-assess, you are still at the most basic level. At that point, there is not much that you have to figure out on your own that you can't figure out by watching others. Watch some high caliper coordinators and see what they do with their dots in certain situations. Take it a step further and try to figure out why they did it, go and look at some past film of their opponents to pick out the trend they were trying to exploit.
You have to scout. You have to swap up your AI from game to game, at a minimum on offense. I caution you about changing too much on defense because an offense that changes things up can burn you. A DAI that is set up well won't have to be changed much from game to game against balanced offenses, but your OAI should be tweaked every game to attack weaknesses. On offense, you're in the driver's seat and you're the one that should be on attack.

There aren't cheats to GLB - only exploits. BIIGGGG difference. I have a better question for you heinywb . How come everyone that loses has to post about it and blame some external factor?

The Hoods looked to be heavy favorites this whole season. They lost once but it seemed to be a fluke, they had not been held under 500 yards and 30 points except for a bad game or two. We held them to 3. My team (Auckland) was the underdog in this game but I spent a long time scouting the other team. I scouted each game and had a comprehensive list of what they did with each formation the entire season (competitive games only). By taking the average, I was able to counter the other team's changes from game to game. I gave this information to the DC and he developed a new killer DAI. I used to do DC but I retired to concentrate on scouting and the offense.
Doing the offense is a lot of fun. OCs are not charged with responding to other team's tendencies but rather get to develop new ideas on their own. You should definitely look at where the other team is vulnerable and what has worked against them but more than anything else, you need to see what has worked for your team then try to get them using that out of different formations.
Also, TRADE... Trade like your life depends on it. We've built up good amounts of money to get some great players through the door and we're in the Championship game because we got excellent players in spots where we were shown to be deficient.

Bort specifically said around season 2 that the playoffs would be slightly different from the regular season to make it more "exciting".
So yes the play offs are a crap shoot! I had three players on top tier teams in their leagues that lost to teams they beat in regular season. I don't see that game plans played that big a role in any of the games. It seems to me that whatever change Bort set up for the play offs gives favor to the crappier teams to keep the games closer so their are less blow outs. Bort has never expanded on that comment from what I know.
Only thing you can hope for is that your team is SO much better that the change doesn't effect you that much. Also keep in mind that teams will throw the kitchen sink at you to win. Like last season where my team was defeated because the other team used the known exploit of I smash to the right, every play. They threw only 3 times the entire game. So by the time the Playoffs come around exploits are known and will be used. This season not so much but still an example.
Being the top team going into the Playoffs is a disadvantage sometimes. THe reason is you are comfortable with your OAI and dont want to deviate to much from what works. Because of this people are able to scout you out like NorthernDeac did and was talking about.
Final thought: Teams you beat early might have had low chemistry early and over the season it increased and though you beat them in the regular season they now are playing better when you meet them in the Playoffs. I have seen this happen. Anyway hope all that helps.
