Anyone begin a build by going crazy on tackling?
Gonna experiment and take tackling up to 75 right away.

It'll take a while for his speed and agility to get where it should be, but should be interesting.

Not my player, so I won't link, but one of my teams has a guy who went to 74 tackling, 73 strength early. He's not good yet, but eventually, he's got potential.

Eh level 20 is too low still to totally gage. It would take til lv ~32 to get the speed and agility where it needs to be...
Hmm...
still maybe go speed first like normal, then tackling

Now i have to go through all your teams to look for this guy

I wouldn't say he's failed UD, he should move all his eq to speed though, so he can actually make more than 1 tackle a game, and have a chance to cause some fumbles. I gotta say, it annoys me how people put all their eq into their highest attribute and don't understand why their players suck. People who say you have to put all your eq in your highest attribute really irritate me.

Yeah true. he was wanting off the team because he didn't like how the build turned out. I really don't think tackling needs to be tremendously high anyway. maybe 60+

I would rather have a guy stronger faster and more agile miss a couple of tackles, then have a guy who can't really make plays but sure can tackle.

Most GLB defenses are based on speed, so high tackling LBers won't get to the point of attack as often as the faster LBers. If 3 guys reach the point of attack before you, chances are one of them is going to make the tackle. It's simple economics.

True... I'm building one of each to prove that pure athleticism is superior to high tackling. Will have legitimate results in two seasons.

It won't prove anything. If you want to prove something, you'd have to build entire LB corps based on each style. One LB corps with all speed LBers and one LB corps with all tackling LBers.

If you want to test high tackling, the way to do it isn't to leave speed and agility at the soft cap and take tackling to 90. Anybody who does that has no understanding of the LB position whatsoever. The way to do it would be third cap speed and agility, cap tackling, cap vision, and then third cap tackling while training strength to a good number.

Isn't that what MOST PEOPLE do? o.O

No. I haven't seen a lot f LBs out there with 3rd capped tackling. I tried it with one of mine and he ended up missing a ton of tackles that season..

most people probably don't even second cap tackling. also in that scenario you should split your eq and get at least +10 in tackling for about 80. 80 spd/agi/tck, capped str/vis. would be a good test (which would fail).

i suppose alternatively you could leave spd/agi at the 61 cap, and get str/vis there, 61 str/vis, 70 spd/agi, 80 tck.
