im serious when i say i hope i can keep my interest up. i hate whats going on now but i have no choice but to participate in it. weve had to chase and add guys simply to keep them from going to somebody else. it really blows. its so bad it could hurt my interest in being involved late next season

starting the trade limitation of three players a side twice a season right after the playoffs is ridiculous
they set up this absurd situation of forcing teams to sign ringers, who shouldnt be available in the first place, just to keep up, and now they are going to force restrictions on moving them starting right after the playoffs?!?
they should have made it effective at the start of the season, giving teams the offseason to move the ringers they were essentially forced to sign now
i realize how hard it is to anticipate everything and that this is still beta, but thats some bad planning and decision making right there

i just think they are making it way to complicated. all they have to do is institute season long contracts which would make it a more accurate sim anyway. i think they are trying to spread out the recruiting period through the year so you dont have an offseason mad dash for players. however they could solve that by allowing contracts to be offered prior to the expiration of another. that way a player would have a bunch of contracts waiting for them at the end of the season, all the bs ass kissing would be done already.

They also have to account for new players coming in mid/late season. They have to allow these players an oppotunity to sign with teams. If all signing was only in the off season, then these players wouldbe stuck on D teams until the end of the month/season.
However this should in no way should prevent the implementationof season long contracts ( Which are now a choice on the signing screen ).
And I sure hope meat sticks around. It would not be the same without hsi caustic, er I mean witty presence. Of course the Rangers are probably moving up next season anyway.

contracts just should never end after the trading deadline. period. i cant imagine its that hard to implement
i think im just gonna stop being an active GM, just simply manage my player and help new GMs by answering questions. i know the admins are working hard and they are in a tough spot trying to balance all kinds of conflicting objectives, i dont want to bad mouth them, but im tired of managing around their mistakes. ill wait until a few more seasons when they get it straightened out and maybe i will feel like managing again. or maybe not

You could still allow mid season signings. The contracts would always have an end date at whatever seasons end.

Well, new players joining the game won't be high level players anyway.
I like the idea of allowing trial contracts for lower level guys, but having certain times for higher level guys to become FA.
Meadjerk's idea of not allowing contracts to end after the trading deadline is a good one I think. It would allow a little spread out of free agency (cramming it into a couple days is a little tight), but at the same time wouldn't allow "ringers" to be signed right before the playoffs.
