Forum > Position Talk > HB Club > Does power running on slider actually increase break tackle %?

I always assumed the running slider basically affected how much the runner tries to avoid contact. 100% power means he doesn't try at all, and 100% elusive means he'll do anything he can to avoid contact. I didn't think it did any modification to a break tackle% or triggering of an SA firing, but I have heard others disagree.

How does this work?

Does the running slider affect any of the following things:
1) the likeliness of an SA firing (power or elusive SA)
2) break tackle %

From my understanding the running slider increases or decreases the rate of vision checks. This doesn't affect the vision checks themselves, only the time between them, which is why many powerbacks who run on -100 don't avoid tacklers as quickly (like they have tunnel vision). I've seen nothing to show that running on -100 increases the % of broken tackles, but I say that it increases contact, which could increase brtks since the HB isn't avoiding contact.

For all the advice you give out in these forums I'd think you'd know the answer to this.

This, it just affects how often you have vision checks

I heard that my PB has been breaking more tackles on -50 than on -100. And I was very careful when listening to words that came out of my own mouth.

Sliding bar manipulates your East to West movement. More power means less direction changing. Don't really need good vision, just good agility/speed.

Avoiding a pile and plowing over 1 guy > Running into pile and gaining .5 yards.
