I'm unsure whether I want him to be a returner or a deep threat... I've got plenty of time to decide, as I'm not going to allocate SPs to catching for a while anyway.

Here's the plan for the short-run:
1. 4th cap speed
2. Hard-cap agility
3. 3rd cap agility

This is where the paths diverge...

If I decide to make what amounts to essentially an uber-returner, I'll do this:
1. 4th cap agility
2. Soft-cap vision
3. Hard-cap vision
4. Spend a few levels' worth of SPs going nuts with SAs (since this will be after lvl 25, of course)
5. Soft-cap carrying, if I haven't reached it through training by now
6. 3rd cap vision
7. Hard-cap carrying
8. Soft-cap strength
9. Pretty much just SAs from here on out unless I decide to maybe hard-cap strength. lol.

If I decide to go the deep-threat route, here's what I'll do:
1. Soft-cap catching
2. Either hard-cap catching or soft-cap vision
3. Whichever I don't do at #2
4. Soft-cap jumping
5. Soft-cap carrying
6. A few levels of SAs (since after lvl 25)
7. Should I hard-cap jumping or 3rd cap catching here?...or hard-cap vision?...or something else?

Please help me out here. Should I go straight deep threat, return man, a combination, or...? Also, please comment on my plans, etc.

Thanks!... oh, and please be respectful when answering! =)

I assume you mean something different by Hard Cap than what it really means. It looks like you mean second cap?

With that in mind, your plan as a deep threat receiver is pretty solid. It is hard to say what your step 7 will be as the sim is constantly changing. I'd certainly lean towards 3rd capping catching if I was at that point today.

If you decide to be a dedicated returner, I still wouldn't neglect Catching as you'd be great to have on the depth chart as WR4 or 5 as well. Also, at this point, third cap vision isn't really worth it imo.

Personally, I'd push out SAs a little later in your plan but it won't kill you to do it when you're planning.

I really like both of you're plans, it comes down to your choice. I'd personally be a deep threat, but if return man suits you, go for it

It's not for everyone but return men certainly make a difference in the game. A good return man that gives +30 yards on KR and +20 yards on PR totally affects field position and increases a team's chance to score.

For example this guy is contributing nicely for a 13-0 team:
