Does First Step cause those fast breaks I see from alot of HBs or it that just speed? I once heard that handoffs and the speed after it were precalculated so FS doesn't effect them.

Is that true?

FS sucks. Change Direction and really high speed are probably what your seeing.

quick cut = change direction

If you get FS up high enough it makes a sweet difference (but you have to have your agility high too).

Theoretically it can help you come out of a cut faster. Depends on how slow you get in changing direction.

Edit: Before some says that's Quick Cut... FS activates when you fall below a certain speed threshold. So if it's 3 (just making numbers up), and you go from 10 (running) to 2 (cut) FS should activate to boost your speed.

I'd like to think it would be decent AE for a power back. Sometimes you break through tackles and have to pretty much start from a stop.

If I roll up a decent piece I'll probably try it.

Bort states that stupid high agility = less of an impact of FS. He says, if you can accelerate in 3 ticks, accelerating in 2 isn't going to be that much greater (paraphrasing).

I'm wondering if it's more beneficial to get attribute to 60 and then pump SAs. Lets say 68 agility is high and anything at the next cap and beyond is stupid high. Would it make more sense to stop at 60 and put 10 in FS?

Not for an elusive back, because their SA's increase in effectiveness as agility increases.

For a powerback, then yes.

I was just talking in regards to FS. But, if you take QC to 10 (or greater w/ AEQ) then 60 agility might be enough (provided the other SAs are at 10 as well).

Elusive Backs don't work very well with 60 Agility.

I've tried that before, leaving Agility fairly low, while pumping up Quick Cut and First Step. Trust me, it doesn't work.
