after watching todays game, did Borts LB AI fix kill the TE outside stretch-block pitch play? Anyone else notice it getting shutdown more often? We held our opponent to -4 yards rushing today using our generic defensive AI. Playoff contender too, not just a scrub AI team. They tried to implement the coastal empire offense to a degree in an attempt to replicate the results against us.

New LB AI examples:

Old AI examples:

The New AI was from our last game, notice the LBs go immediately outwards for the pitch. The Old AI is from our loss to coastal empire, the example shows the ROLB move inside, then out, which was clearly fixed IMO after watching the new replays.

I've seen the TE stretch pitch play work really well this season for alot of teams, but I'm thinking this fix may have significantly neutered it. Like I said, we held the team from the above example to -4 yards rushing today. Lots of TFL on these pitch plays.

That said, coastal empire is a much better team than Eastern Stars, but the AI looks much improved to me.

cool so yeah basically but the TE is blowing his assignment, maybe he doesn't see the LB.

I like the new fix

that is not a valid sample....4-3 over vs 4-3 under and running to the weak side vs the strong side....

The blocking assignments differ (or should) if a def is in an under vs and over.....so the TE made the correct read by attempting to block either CB or SS the RB merely got ran down by a faster LB....

forget the defensive set or the TE's blocking assignment. Purely watch the LB that makes the play vs the LB in the old example. The drift to the middle absolutely kills his ability to make ANY play on the outside before the AI fix. Now, it doesn't happen, and we hold a heavy outside pitching team to -4 yards total rushing. Maybe it isn't enough evidence, but it sure looked promising to me.

hmmm, as a DC i havent noticed this it seams and our OC hasnt commented that that play doesnt work anymore. I personally believe that when you moved your LB into the middle of the field the TE was more concerned about the blitzing corner and your fast LB this time went behind the TE and got the HB instead of lining up in front of him where even a blind TE could of picked him up. It's simply due to the placing of the LB the update did help your LOLB but not THAT much.
