Based on the Greasemonkey Script: http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/47773 - I'm just cutting and pasting and then placing in order. Ties I ranked record and then by the win streak.

I apologise if the formatting is off. But I'm not going to try to fix it any more than it is.

6-1 over a 7-0? 4-3 over a 6-1? 1-6 over a 3-4?

I'd chunk that script, it's garbage. Your "out the ass" guesses would probably make more sense.

Records do not always mean anything until the end of the season. That 3-4 team could have beat 3 easy team and finish 3-13, while the 1-6 team could have had a start that included the top 6 teams and finish 8-8.

Same with rankings, to include "Power Rankings". It's supposed to be a snap-shot of current situation within the league, not a guess as to how things will be at the end. That's why most Power Rankings are done weekly and often change weekly.

-shrugs- Whatever. All in good fun anyway.

i agree with fitz. also gardner beat Lewiston Raiders so at 6-1 Gardner should be above them by DEFAULT

I was just sharing the script output for discussion.

Quality of opponents played is a factor though. Per the R2D2 script:

In the East the Toughest Schedule has been:
1 Biggold Brawlers 27 15
2 St. Louis Knights 25 17
3 Chicago LMG Accountabillibuddies 24 18
4 "Quick Stop" Clerks 23 19
5 Atlantic City Aces 23 19
6 Jacksonville Canaries 23 19
7 Chinese Bandits 22 20
8 American Cardinals 20 22
9 Pennsylvania Steagles 19 23
10 Cleveland Kardiac Kids 19 23
11 Houston Oil Rig Workers 18 24
12 New York Mustangs 17 25
13 Dalton Dragons 16 26
14 Detroit Dominators 15 27
15 Enterprise Venom 14 28
16 Toronto Arctic Wolves 13 29

In the West it has been:
1 Los Angeles Ice Drakes 32 10
2 Austin Cyber-Demons 29 13
3 Indy Hellcats 29 13
4 Cleveland Elves 29 13
5 Lewiston Raiders 28 14
6 Topeka Gunners 26 16
7 Omaha Invaders 25 17
8 San Dimas Sea Monkeys 22 20
9 Summit Station Stallions 22 20
10 Savannah Skyhawks 19 23
11 Wellsboro Crawling Chaos 19 23
12 Lakewood Lancers (CPU) 17 25
13 A-TOWN Dirty Birds 16 26
14 Kansas City Predators 15 27
15 Fayetteville Fighting Tigers 14 28
16 Gardner Paraplegics 12 30

So you can see why the script takes some teams and puts them lower despite better records and performance figures. Gardner for instance has played teams with a record of 12 and 30 (Combined) in the first 7 games. Lewiston has had the 5th Hardest schedule in the west facing 28-14 opponents records. The Ice Drakes have had the toughest schedule though their own struggles have added to that, with a combined record of 32-10. When you think abot it though, the ice drakes only account for 7 of those wins so they have had a really tough schedule so far.

So it's not really waiting for the end of the season to determine these rankings, it's looking at the qualiy of the opponents you have faced. A 6-1 team with an opponents record through 7 games of 30 wins -12 losses is likely going to be ranked higher on power ratings than a 7-0 team with an opponents win/liss of 10 wins - 32 losses. They were playing creampuffs while the 6-1 had a really tough schedule with quality teams.

St. Louis @ 6-1 has played opponents with a 25-17 record.
The Mustangs have a 7-0 record but their opponents have a 17-25 record.

St. Louis has played much tougher teams. So while their record has one more loss, that they played harder teams is reflected in the power rankings.

The enterprise venom has only won 3 games against teams with a combined record of 14-28
Biggold has had the toughest schedule in the east so far yet they kept it close in some games against opponents with records of 27-15.

See the pattern?

Its not just about ones win/loss record, but who you won/lost against and how badly.
