That's because great pass rushers play the run very well.

Remember Michael Strahan? He was a run stopper alongside a pass rusher, and he ended up leading a Giants D that held the Pats to 14 points in the Super Bowl.

Ask NFL scouts that question. Why do they love DEs who can run a 4.6? IDK, maybe it has to do with the way pass-rushing is THE most important factor in stopping the pass at any level.

they love them cause they want to convert them to OLB's in the 3-4.

Like 4.6-running Mario Williams? Or Julius Peppers? Or Reggie White? Or Dwight Freeney? Or Derrick Burgess? Or Osi? Or Jason Taylor? The list goes on and on but maybe you get the point: speed IS important for rushing the passer at DE.

you sure all those guys are 3-4 ends?

True. None of those guys are playing DE in 3-4 systems, although Reggie, Mario, and probably Julius could.

reggie maybe, mario and julius no too small size wise. they would def be converted to OLB like Ware

Reggie was moved to DT at times, I'm sure he could have played 3-4 DE. Julius and Mario are both 285-290 lbs, they are not too small to play 3-4 DE.

if he was moved to DT then that erases any doubt. both are listed as 283, but are a slimmer 283 they would be stood up theres no way their small bodies would stand up to the pounding

They aren't a lot slimmer than Justin Smith, definately nothing that adding 10 lbs couldn't fix. Not that you would want to, but they would be more suited to 3-4 DE than 3-4 OLB although 4-3 DE is the best use of both of their talents.

Of course I am absolutely SURE that none of those guys are 3-4 pss rushing DEs. More to the point I also know that they are fast (4.6 speed) DEs who wer NOT moved to OLB. You were saying that the NFL wants to turn all fast DEs into OLBs, so I named a few fast 4-3 DEs off the top of my head.
