Would a player normally assigned as ROT suffer a penalty if switched over to LOT for a game?

No.

All position changes have a OOP penalty. It is minimal for reasonable position changes. Like ROT to LOT Center to Guard, etc, etc. It is 5% penalty.

There is no ROT & LOT. They're the same fucking position - OT.

Go ahead and create a player. Create a RIGHT offensive tackle. I dare you.

Sorry I wasn't thinking when I typed that. I was trying to just give examples. The crazy position changes are the extreme ones. Like HB or WR in the QB slow is 30%. When a player that is obviously faster in his position than the norm is when the penalty gets higher. Like a SS into a LB spot, but a LB in a SS spot would be less than the other.

This isn't right either. First, nobody knows for sure, and your assertion that the penalty is higher when a positional change goes from a "slow" spot to a "fast" spot is something you just made up.

Secondly, I seem to recall Bort mentioning SS to LB being a smallish to mediumish penalty. More than FS to CB, I would assume. We've never gotten any numbers, though. Your 30% number is another totally made up number.

I've actually played SS at OLB, and they performed rather well in each case.

Centers get better strength rolls right? Even with 5% penalty, I wonder if they would be good guards?
