your an idiot...

It's you're, idiot.

Now i know why the USA education system sucks. Teachers are trolling GLB forums being Grammer Nazi's instead of teaching the students.

It's true though. I used to check my game sims while the kids were at lunch.

i'm for them. i have yet to read a compelling argument against VAs, just for adjusting certain ones to be adjusted. frankly it feels like everyone who opposed nerfing attribute VAs is now in favor of removing them. basically a take my ball and go home type deal when someone doesn't get their way. i don't want to paint everyone that way, but it's my general impression.

discussing how well VAs are balanced is a discussion that really needs to happen. VAs are still relatively new and need to be adjusted up/down to make them all appealing. i think a more productive exercise would be rating the different VAs and why we think they're good/bad/whatever.

i also think it would be better to have VA descriptions closer to SA descriptions and remove any code reference from them. ie dont tell us bruiser gives +3% to break tackles, just say it gives a bonus to breaking tackles. as a math geek and dev it's interesting, but it leads to second guessing and forum rants.

I'll try to make my argument against them.

1) A quarter of them are broken, a quarter of them are never used, a little more than a quarter of them are just ok and about 10% of them are used by almost everyone. Sounds more like an argument for restructure but it is also a good argument against them.

2) They are responsible for the broken tackle craze in season 7, the strong i slam craze in season 8 and now the forced fumble craze in season 9. So far we have had 3 seasons of VAs and three seasons of strong exploits.

3) They were added in the middle of the game and drastically impact a lot of players and teams. They are a crutch to try and keep players that should have been retired because of bad builds to keep from retiring. The same players they were created for will be retiring in a season or two anyway.

4) They are time consuming for team owners to try and organize and time consuming for people with a lot of players. It would be nice to free up some time for a lot of owners that complain the game is too time consuming.

5) Picking VAs that aren't the exploit of the season can instantly kill a team which in many cases will end up in a gut job.

6) VAs have been the problem of a lot of bugs.

7) VAs add a huge new supply of variations that can make it difficult to identify a bug in the sim. This would be great if the sim was working smoothly but it isn't so it isn't.

8) Some VAs have no counter. A QB with clever instincts and WRs with underdog can destroy a defense and there is nothing a CB can do about it. Power tackler forces fumbles but RBs don't have a VA that prevents them. Plenty of other examples.

If bort wants to leave VAs in place then he better get ready for slow build teams to absolutely dominate in seasons 12 on up because by then the slow build players will be the high level guys. What was created as something to handicap teams will eventually help those teams.
