OMG

No way! Fuck man you were one of my mentors in this game.

This is my last post on subject. Rj and I spoke nearly everyday for 9-10 months and got to know each other pretty well.

My issue with the situation was Hazy's constant response of "I wasnt directing what I said at RJ." That is bullshit and he knows it. With that said....Hazy didnt make RJ leave, he just helped him have no remorse in clicking that sell button.

And Hazy, if you think that being a Mod doesnt change anything regarding your posts, etc....you are dead wrong.

Not reading 12 pages of bickering and don't even want to know what the drama was/is much less get involved in it. So, I'll comment on rj's departure. I hate to see him go. He was one of the coolest cats in GLB and while I never went to him for advice (I'm too stubborn cause he whipped our butts long ago among some smack talk), I did tend to read his posts whenever I saw one and have a great deal of admiration for him.

Modok on the other hand was a plethora of information for me a couple seasons ago when my defense was struggling. The fact that he sold his team as well speaks volumes.

/sigh

If anyone knows rj in RL, tell him Moses said to take care...

I think Bort needs to change his approach to the the game. Bort needs to speak to the masses more often and needs to work on expressing his thoughts better -. This wouldn't take much time - a quick twice weekly address regarding the game and an occasional chat regarding the same. Q&A's with Bort could become a weekly post as well . Hazy stated Bort wasn't removing VA's but I have never seen that anywhere - why is that as I spend far too much time on this game to not know that. That is just 1 example of information not gettting disseminated correctly.

Wow - have actually seen bort in some threads today. Nice to see.

ha! finally, we agree on something man.. ;o)

RJ leaving this game is a huge, huge blow. he was a mentor to many people in this sim - owners, gms, and players alike who he played with and against in various leagues up and down the scale.

he is one of the good guys. he encouraged many people to stay in the game, offered sage advice in everything from recruitment to player builds, and really, really gave a damn about this game.

one of the biggest problems with GLB is that, simply put, it went live as a pay game too soon. i built my first player over a year ago - towards the end of Season One. it was a simpler game, and a lot of fun building players. but, as time went on, it became obvious that more and more things needed to be fixed about the sim.

And instead of making serious fixes, little tweaks here and there were made, and when one thing seemed to over shoot its mark, another thing was brought up to balance it. That, in turn, made it necessary to dial something else down, and for the last several season there's been a domino/jenga effect happening, and while all these perpetual band aids are happening, we're still paying to play, and when someone has a legitimate complaint, they are often ignored by Bort, or shot down and hushed by one of the mods.

this has the potential to be a great, great game. but somewhere along the way, the powers-that-be got lost.

no way should a game essentially still be a beta game, all while charging people if they want to be competitive.

so long RJ, you will be missed, and your leaving may very well be the one who's exit kicks the door wide open and has many others follow.

Sorry to revive this but I had to comment as Rj was a realy close friend to me on here. I had know RJ since season two when he traded for my player to be on the Waco Davidians. He was a cool guy and was always trying to help people and befriend people. He would do all the little things to make this game enjoyable. Whether it be his write ups or his knack of making you think you were involved in the decision making of the team or starting rivalries with other teams. Some of the best times on this game were spent with Modok, RJ, Prizzle, and DP in the US A7. When he bought Spicewood he asked me if I wanted to be back on his team and finish what we started in the A7. I went accepting a backup role for my only player at the time just so I could be on his team. Its a shame he is gone. It signify's how far this game has fallen and how many good people have actually left the game.

I will miss Spicewood, the Denton Spartans had some great battles with them.
