Really? Are you naive enough to think that the sim will ever be right. Every offseason Bort introduces new features that change the game and sim. And every season something new becomes the latest exploit or best way to win games. Until he stops introducing new features this we will never be able to even think about perfecting the sim. So what is the harm in another minor feature that should take minimal coding to add and should have little to no impact on the actual sim?

naivety has nothing to do with it really, i just mean i'd rather him spend the time he would spend on making the website prettier to instead work out/look at kinks in the sim. you are right the sim may never be right because, as you said, he is adding new things all the time, but in reality he shouldnt be adding new things when other things are still broken in the sim. for example: instead of coding the dpc and all this other new stuff, he could have fixed the SLAM last season which had everyone complaining.

True, but that would make sense.

I agree with both of ye, sort of

imo; bort shouldn't add too much new stuff like the dpc every 50-100 days or so from a purely selfish, personal point of view as everything added as an additional 'option' on the game has the effect of being an additional 'must start doing - or at least examine carefully' instead which makes it hard to do as more and more stuff becomes neccessary every 2 days for a sometimes small group of people to do.

What Coach suggests is both something that is a good idea for anyone who is working on AI's regularly and will take away the drudgery of fine tuning or deactivating [<- dangerous lol] outputs in an ai all the time or someone who maybe does it less diligently normally - or for another team

I'd like to have time to do all the cool stuff in GLB, like looking at games, seeing cool plays and bantering with people on the forums etc. and for as long as I want to be doing what i want on my team and the various options open to me tactics/AI etc wise on other teams [recruiting is shite tho - some of ye guys clearly enjoy it]
but a new thing like the DPC [whilst cool] is another thing the users have to fine tune that takes away time from doing other things in the game.

As everyone here knows I took rather a lazy option last year regarding the AI so I should be the last person to say it but;

Bug fixing the sim, and removing exploit type plays, etc. is no more important in the context of everyone enjoying the game than than making all types stuff that make it easier for all users to do what they want imo.

Sure ;spend time on the sim and communicating what that sim is about to as many people as you can but spend time on making it user friendly too esp if it's a quick fix that will save lots of people lots of time.
