15 in each gives you:
+45% to breaking tackles within 8 yards of LOS
+75% to breaking tackles within the first second after catching a pass shorter than 10 yards

All you have to do is overcome the hurdle of catching the short pass. Screen passes can't really be exploited because it's only so often that a defender makes it to you right when you catch the ball, but what about:
HB Out (Pro Set)
Strong Flood (Shotgun)

I'd run those 2 plays all day with the HB as a favorite. Assuming it's a 50+ HB, he'll be able to catch just fine despite drawing a LB's attention, and the LB will still probably be close enough to miss a tackle within the first second, no?

How much is that 1 second for yac attack?

Too bad the QB seldom throws to the WDE OPEN HB in teh TE out.

I would say that the exploit is this:

Bruiser: 15 in this will give you a 45% bonus to breaking tackles ANYWHERE (3% each)
Short Yardage monster: 15 in this will give you a 60% bonus to breaking tackles behind the LOS (4% each)

So that takes care of screens and TFLs!!! (105% bonus if behind the LOS)

i have been preaching this in this forum for a while. Anyone done this? Our HB had 16 broken tackles on 22 carries aganst a newly promoted team (22 runs 170 yards) that was an even match. He has not reset his VAs yet, but I know his bruiser is up there.

1 second is 10 game ticks (or pausing the replay and hitting FF 20 times).

Did you read the VA descriptions at all? THis is like the 4th post I've seen of yours that is incorrect.

FYI: Bruiser does not work anywhere. Once you are 8 yards past the line of scrimmage, it provides no bonus.

PS: You need to reread what clutch does based on some of your other posts.

I have seen the light on clutch...good work there hulk for making me see the light.

But bruiser is not bad at all. He gets past the first tackler, then he is guaranteed to get at least 3-4 yards. If the tackler meets him behind the LOS you have a +105% chance to not get TLFed. Plus all the broken tackles demoralizes defenders.

Our powerback had 177 yards on 22 carries and 16 broken tackles. Thats what he averaged agaisnt good teams last season. The scrim today was against a conference finalist from the AA league below us, so i think its safe to say bruiser does not work.

In terms of overall consistency and raised YPC average due to less TFLs, bruiser works:

Tell me where on this play you would have needed bruiser past 8 yards:

Also, if you have short yard monster and bruiser, expect this play to work a lot better for you:

^^ the line blocked well here, but if they didn't the HB could have made the most of a broken play.

SSs are getting to the ballcarrier by the 4 yard line...so if they are the last line of defense...they will get steamrolled. You said i am incorrect...well I disagree. But at least i provide film that prove my theories, rather than just saying "trust me" then telling people that they suck.

your "powerback" is a decent combo back, not a power back.

I used Yac attack on my HB last season.. I thought it worked well with that play out of the Shotgun formation.. most of the time there was another defender there to make the tackle after the first was broken though.
