1. Changelog post: - Passes knocked loose by a defender now show up in PBP as "knocked loose" and count as both a PD and a drop.
2. Teams see "powerback nerf" and think they need to start passing more.
3. Soft Hands VA sliced in half; relevant CB counterpart (Long Reach?) not affected.
4. Track Star VA sliced in 1/3; WRs pump speed to compensate.

Thoughts?

I'm confused on the #4 issue. I don't see that happening. Every WR I know who pumped track star did it for more speed to beat the CBs who also took track star. If they both drop it, there should be no net gain and WRs will still be faster than their CB counterparts.

I don't see a change to Sure Hands, do you mean soft hands (the catching attribute boost which went from 1% to .5%)? Sure hands would be the counter to LR in my opinion.

I do like the PBP change, thanks for the update on that. Should make troubleshooting builds much easier.

they'll be more drops cuz there will be more throwing in season 9, imo.

as a percentage of catchable balls, however, i dunno. knocked loose is separate from drops. er, at least as i look at it.

Sometimes a pass goes right through a WR and then the CB deflects it and it isn't counted as a drop, will it be counted as a drop this season?

not sure. if the receiver gets hits while catching it and drops it, yes. if he whiffs on it and no one PDs it, yes. If he whiffs and it's PD's after, I dunno.

It's only a drop if it hits his hands. If it's a whiff, then he just sucks and will be mocked by the trainer.

I meant Soft Hands. Thanks for the catch (pardon the pun). I edited the OP now.

I'm thinking that a larger % of WRs will keep Track Star since so many WRs want to be "speedster WRs." WR owners are generally more ignorant (or diva-ish, or some other disparaging term) on player builds imo and want the fastest WR on the market, whereas CB owners don't really give a flip about speed once it's in the the 75-90 range.

when i asked bort in a thread long ago, he said anytime a receiver makes a play on the ball but fails it's a drop, even if he didn't touch it.

Do we get another roll if sure hands activates? It is considered a drop.
