more disaster if things were to change drastically? Sure. But it also
allows your play to take advantage of distinct abilities that can be
utilized. The guy is meant to STOP all forward movement from the TE and
RT for example. He doesn't have to get around them or get through them.
He has to stop the movement of the line of scrimmage. Hence you should
be pouring all you got into strength and maybe agility with the newer
revelations concerning stun blocks.
It just doesn't
really seem like stopping them does much... in the run game, lanes
don't seem to matter, it's more about holding blocks. If an o-line has
me held then the RB will just run through us. In other words I need to
shed the block or pancake, or I'm useless.
I'm thinking of
moving all equip to strength and getting a new AEQ that doesn't have
Blitz, and going for that strength route, but I'm still pretty sure it
won't be useful without shedding blocks or pancaking... and I don't
know if a DE can pancake OTs very well, even with focus.
His
strength will only be 86 if I put all equip there, and that's pretty
good for a 25 DE without CE, but it still isn't enough. I just don't
see "blocked running lanes."
oh pancakes happen on BOTH!

Reverse pancakes are funny. I'm sure there would be more if he wasn't on special teams since his build at this point isn't very effective because it's just strength and some agility so far.
