Pro World Tournament - Season 9

The Pro Teams Ranking Committee will be putting on the Pro World Tournament again this season, providing a platform for 64 of the best Pro teams in GLB to compete against each other across regional lines. Last season’s tournament was a huge success – thanks primarily to the collection of quality Pro owners involved - and we had a blast doing it.

The format will remain the same … 64 teams split into sixteen 4-team groups where they will begin by competing in a round robin Group Round. From there, the two best from each group will advance to the 32-team, single elimination Bracket Round.

The PWT is Pro-only and invite-only and the invitation process is now complete. 31 teams earned auto-invites for this season's tourney by winning their regular season conference title, by advancing to their league's title game, or by finishing among the final eight teams in the Season 8 PWT. The remainder were selected by the committee.

Marblehead and OFG should have been given the opportunity to play in a 3rd place game since gold and silver trophies were given to 1st and 2nd place on the teams' profile pages. Isn't that generally the order of medal placing? Gold - Silver - Bronze? That or they both should be given conditional 3rd place trophies.

JMO.

I wouldn't mind working a third trophy (and a 3rd place game) into the tourney, but the trophies are really out of our hands.

Perhaps Sandman can look into it for us.
