My first piece is in Line General

For a second piece I rolled and bought 2 that I found interesting, but I am not sure which one to invest in.

+1 vision and +1 blitz
or
+2 speed and +1 strong base

I have 4 in strong base right now so I could easily see raising it to 8-10 without too much trouble. Over that same amount of time I would be getting blitz to 4-5.

I opened my build so people could get a better idea on what he has and what he would have with either one. (team is folding anyway) http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=289451

Would it be better to go with Strong base and add to what I already have or go with blitz which seems to work well for the D-line? Advice?

Thanks

Strong base would be my normal suggestion but you seem to have more of a pass rusher build than NT to be honest. Regardless the vision/blitz piece isn't all that impressive to me.

is there any point in a lvl 49 starting a 2nd AEq?

OK lets do some math.

First, Lets say that including the off-season you can get 20 BTs every season. (that's a 10 day avg off-season). So You get 2.5 AEq upgrades a season.

I don't know about your guys, but I have a lvl 49 with 15 BTs, so lets say you have a guy with fully upgraded lvl 48 gear and 16 BTs to use when you get a new one. and get your lvl 8 upgrades. So you need 5 more upgrades to "catch-up" for simplicity lets say you do this at the end of this season.

You get 2600 XP a season assuming max XP every game + 3000 from boosts. So that's a new equipment level about every 1.5 seasons

So lets make a chart (assume start of season)
Season...Level...Upgrades on 2nd pieces
9................49..........2
10..............54..........4
11..............60 .........6*
12..............60**.......8 - caught up

*I'm putting 8 BTs towards your primary AEq. You would likely apply these to the new piece since its cheaper but the end result is the same in that you need an extra 8 BTs to "catch-up"

** This would be your guys 11th season, I have no clue how its supposed to work at that point. I'm just having him level off at 60. If players keep leveling and can get lvl 64 gear then you would reach the "catch-up" point in season 13

Of course at this point (lvl 60) you have now put 64 BTs into your gear which could have been converted into 16SPs using temp boosts. So in order for you to come out ahead (3 seasons from now) you need to have a piece of gear worth more than 16SPs.

As it turns out this is pretty easy to do since +5 strong base is worth (3+3+4+4+5 =) 19 right now even without adding any more to it and the speed adds another 6 (2*3). So your gear would be worth >=25 SPs if your player lasts that long.

So I guess it is worthwhile for yr 7 players if they stick around past their 10th season. Good to know, although I probably won't be keeping most of my 1st gen guys around past their 11th season since newer builds are so much better.
