rolled a +1 hangtime for my Punter. would it be worth it to buy it or hold out for big boot/calm nerves? i was also thinking about having 2 pieces of AEQ down the road, each with a different SA, smart?

I pretty much grab any good SA I can get for my punters. I only have 2 of them that ended up with 3 AEs. Hang Time isn't the best, but I'd grab it. I definitely like to have 2 different AEs for my players. For instance, I have one with 2 Big Boots. They have +6 now, which makes the other attributes pretty expensive to keep balanced.

I disagree with 2 pieces of AEQ unless you can max them both out. Otherwise focus on maxing out one of them, with another in reserve that you use as an overflow. Bit Boot is the big prize as its more expensive to level. Hang Time is underrated, and a +1 hang time is worth it if you don't have a big boot piece.

I have 11 in Big Boot and while it doesn't help me stat wise, my punting team gets downfield quicker, plus I get fair catches when the other team who probably has less than 5 in big boot doesn't have those opportunities.

what if both pieces of AEQ had the same SA increase? that would effectively make it cheaper to upgrade the same amount of SAs while also being able to do it at a lower level.

You can easily get 2 pieces of AEQ if you start saving up early enough. At level 32, you'll need 0, 8, 16, 24, 32 upgrades = 40 bonus tokens. So for 2 pieces, 80 bonus tokens. A season is about 20 intense trainings long, so in 4 seasons you can have 2 pieces at level 40. That's about how long it takes to get to level 32, also...

You might be a bit late on your level 40 equip, but who cares, the SAs don't upgrade until level 48. By level 48 (6 levels per season = 3 seasons later) you'll almost be able to upgrade both as well.

Also, say 10-10-10 is your target. SAs over 10 aren't proven, and discussed with Bort, to do very much. Consider you have CE as well, and your target is the level 48 +4SA.

9-9-9 with custom means you only need to shoot for 5 in an SA to upgrade it.

The cost of 5->9 is 4+5+5+6 for Big Boot = 20 SP. But level 48 AEQ costs 8 upgrades, or 16 SP opportunity cost for the cash-ins. So, there is still value for a Big Boot piece, even with nothing attached.

If you get another Big Boot piece, the value is only 1->5, so you're looking at 2+3+3+4 = 12 SP. So unless your second piece for Big Boot (well, or first lol switch places) comes with something of 4SP value (+1 conf, +1 punt, +2 vis, +2 str), it isn't worth it!!!

If you go for a normal SA piece, the value drops by 1 SP per SA upgrade, so you're at a perfect 16 SP value for 16 SP opportunity cost... So the value is equal.

However, if you consider the opportunity cost of 16 cash-ins to also be 16 +5 temp boosts, that's a season of +5 punting!! If you value the regular season, this is a huge value. If you only care about playoffs, or would space these out so thin etc., the value here is pretty slim. However, my conclusion is...

1st piece: Big Boot, nothing else needed with it or Hang Time / Calm Nerves with sufficient stats (+2/3 anything relevant)
2nd piece: Big Boot with sufficient stats on it (+1 majors, +2/3 minors minimum) or Hang Time / Calm Nerves with sufficient stats (+2 majors, +3 minors minimum)




That is my personal analysis. You can disagree with my 10-10-10 assumption, or maybe you don't have custom, don't care about having 16 temp boosts, etc. But in my opinion, the above summary is the only stuff I'd accept as a punter.


FWIW, I have +1 stamina +1 big boot, and +2 confidence +1 hang time. Right at the cusp of minimum value for what I'd be willing to accept, but good enough!

Rolled a equip with +1 confidence +1 calm nerves on my new punter (at level 2, what a roll!) but am a bit :-? as that is right on the cutoff of my own analysis already, LOL
