This is the first season ***O*** has ever had a star on our team, Big Shirley.

We are just a bunch of grunts that somehow work together to do ok.

I think I'm simply not going to bother reading the rest of this thread. I've got the Pounders game coming up and a new opponent to re-evaluate my plan for.

Nothing to see in the pounders game, move along.

Same here...I've always thought of GB as an extremely blue color team. Manning gave us the first real stars we even had...Then KW came on last ssn & Tumr this ssn. Really, though, we're just a bunch of under lvled role players that work well together. Though I haven't compared lvls this ssn, I believe this may be the first that we were on par with or above more than 1/2 the teams we played in reg ssn.

I gotta admit that's what I thought when I read Duff's post, too.

Watching the Wolfpack is like watching everything that's wrong with this game.

edit - Sorry Wolfpack, it's actually half of GLB abusing the run. It's actually funny to see how many teams were toying with pass during the regular season only to abuse the run right away in the playoffs.

what, great run blocking?

It's going to happen next season too. Regardless of what Bort does. It's going to apply to all teams equally, and not going to change what we are, or what we predominantly do. I welcome any decidedly overpowered play calls be removed.

^I editted while you posted.

IMO games were a lot funner to watch when the ration of run: pass wasnt 20:1

No problem. I do tons of edits seconds afterwards, totally understand.
Just like a team like Spicewood is always going to be a dangerous passing offense (because its what they do), the Wolfpack will always be a great running team.

The sim changes every season, but when you look back things have been broken since season 4. Strong I OT then single back slams, now strong I slams. Next season it'll be something else. It is what it is.

I honestly thought I was doing this league a service by NOT running strong I intensive games during the regular season. By actually scouting opponents. Maybe I wasn't. If so, sorry gang. My intention wasn't to be insulting to anyone. We risked millions in playoff revenues doing so.

This is how I view it.

When a team can literally say fuck these guys let's run the exploit... well, that makes for a crappy game. No matter how well the rest of the game is that one exploit will ruin it.

and IMO it's not so much being a great running team, it's just a broken running play. If MEM wanted they could run it with Csonka all day and probably be able to call themselves the best running team in GLB. (Did I just compliment MEM?)

I get where you're coming from, why not play it safe and get the W, it's what coaches do. It just makes for really boring games that would ONLY happen in the sim.

Sorry though, I don't mean to pick on your team, because I went around and watched some other playoffs and everyone's doing it. Your game was just the first I checked out

that's my 2 cents on it anyways

Umm MEM pretty much did that all season. Csonka has 676 carries. Mostly SI.

All respect to MEM and gart though. Not trying to bring them into this, I have no issues whatsoever with how they run their plans, and if we play down the line and they win, then God bless'em. Every game has a winner and loser. It's how it goes.

What I found this season was we were just getting reamed for running regardless of what it was. Me personally, my favorite run is the single back slam. I used it whenever I could this season :/

No win situation sometimes.

Don't worry. Cincy will continue the high moral standards of USA Pro...maybe.
