Training stuff past 40 is really, really bad value.

I didn't mean train it the way to 48 that would take forever but by lvl 40 through training and by thta time you have most of the important stuff capped then you can soft cap stamina

about 35 is the correct place to stop training.

42 stamina at level 50. usually end games around 80. And I have well over 100 speed.

Depends if you have a quality back up, want to get stats from special teams, or just want to be the best on the field but not be on the field as much.

2 quality safeties > 1 good safety that is on the field the whole game.

Really? I had planned on getting jumping, tackling, and stamina to 42-43 and then spending 5 sp on each MUCH later (45-50ish) on to cap them. Based on the discussion here I won't be adding to my stamina unless its role changes, and I already have tackling at 42. Are you saying its better to leave jumping at 37 and just train catching, strength and confidence which are in the high 20's and what should I train once they hit 35?

OK, the training argument assumes that you are using SPs to increase stats beyond the caps. Because of the fact that a point in an attribute above a cap is worth more than one below the caps, training needs to account for this. If I have a skil at 49, I can train it for 12% but since its worth 2SPs that means each train is worth 24% of an SP, while training something at 40 is worth about 17%

For example, If I have 42 stamina and 61 speed and I have 3 SPs and 26 Training points I can either assign the 3 SPs to Speed and train Stamina on normal 13 times which will get me to ~ 44 stamina (with a couple % in the training bar) and 62 speed or I can train speed and assign the points to stamina and get 62 speed and 45 stamina.

Just use Second Wind VA. Then if you have low stamina, you will get a boost in the 4th quarter so it won't matter.
