I'm a combo back and my backfield mate is a straight forward powerback. We both have 3 in Power Through (mine from AEQ). His routinely fires off, while mine doesn't. Does the slider determine how often an SA fires? Could it be that mine is firing and my strength (mid 50s) isn't enough to break the tackle anyway? If so, would you suggest putting more into strength or adding a few SPs to Power Through.

50 strenght is not enough for a power through, I think you need 60+ at least. And slider affects the firing of SAs imo

As for the OP, you need a high Strength level to get Strength based SAs to fire, so if you want it to fire more, add more into Strength. Not that it matters but I'm at (w/o eq) 61/61/57 speed/agility/strength while my backfield mate is at 62/49/62. I have my eq in speed, his is in strength (bringing those attributes to 85).

Im assuming you get a Break Tackle Score which is compared to the defenders tackle score. BrTk score=Momentum/Strength/Agility/Carry/VAs and Tackle score=Momentum/tackle/strength/agility/angle then an SA like power through adds like 10 to your BrTk score occasionally and if that 10 causes you to break the tackle it shows up on the PBP as a power through break tackle
