Hey I'm somewhat new to GLB and am trying to slowbuild my strong DE (level 14).

Physical Attributes Football Skills (w/o equipment)

Strength:45.5
Blocking:12.6
Speed:29.5
Tackling:23.5
Agility:25.5
Throwing:9
Jumping:12.6
Catching:8
Stamina:18.6
Carrying:8
Vision:13.6
Kicking:9
Confidence:12.6
Punting:9

I was under the impresson that if I added 45 skill points to my strength my DE's strength would become 90.5, but then when I tried it, it didn't work. So what do you think I should do with my 45 skill points?

You should learn about the caps first: http://www.glbwiki.com/index.php?title=Ability_Softcaps
Above 48 it costs 2 sp for 1 point.

You get a boost with every lvl so you probably missed out on some capped lvl boosts with keeping all those points. Usually its best to get to a cap as early as you can. And repeat once you can get to the next.
Id get Strength to 61 now and then save up to get speed or agi to 48.

this is not a knock, but it might be prudent to restart ur player with that in mind. level 14 is only a season and a half to get back to. ur choice though, its salvageable still imo

ok, i think thats what i'll do. i'll start over..
so, the way i see things, the reason we want to get to a cap as soon as possible, is because, when my player levels up he improves at a faster rate in that ability, than if I were to spend skill points on it.. right?

when a player levels, certain key attributes increase a fixed amount, regardless of the level of the attribute, the gain is based only on the level of the player. so if you are level 10 and your DT has 100 in strength, it goes to 100.5 when he levels. likewise it would go to 20 to 20.5 if that's what it was at.

after an attribute has been raised of the "soft cap", the price, in SPs, to increase an attribute by one point goes from 1 SP to 2 SP. so to raise from 10 to 11 costs one SP, to raise from 50 to 51 costs 2 SP.

this is the main benefit to getting to the soft cap asap. when you automatically raise from 50 to 50.5, you get the equivalent of one free SP. raising from 20 to 20.5 you only get the equivalent of half an SP.

for a look at major and minor attribute bonuses, look at the "leveling" page on glbwiki.com

Finially, i think i understand the concept of slowbuilding and how exactily it works.. thanks much
so from now on, i'm going to concentrate on getting only one, or maybee two attributes up at a time and then filling in all the less important attributes later..
thanks again
