oh my....we are no longer last. We should start moving up. Looking forward to next season. I was checking out the differences in appliances and light bulbs. You can not imagine how much money you can save by going green. Or just buying newer things. I have been replacing all my bulbs with the new florescent ones and cutting my electric bill. I'm checking out how much it would cost to upgrade my old 1996 water heater up to the new electric/solar one. I'm betting that I can regain the cost in two years plus get a tax break. My daughter got stung by a scorpion. It didn't hurt much until she found out what stung her and then she started running around and screaming.

Love your post tincan. Always something worth reading. And if you get a new water heater make sure you get a 95% efficient tankless. you'll save money in the long run

Pretty much what Ed said. Also, you can save on oil for heating by using an electric fan. In Taxachusetts, it saves enough money so we can buy extra stuff, which is why MA does well in most recessions.

That IS true. We had one when we lived in Europe, very efficient. And you never run out of hot water.

I will look at the tankless. We are all electric down here. I enjoy eating beans. It's only to heat the bed at night. My wife claims that it is wasting energy because hot air rises and the comforter is always on the ceiling in the morning. Therefore we do not benefit from it. Who would have thunk. Now i have reversed the rotation of my ceiling fans. Now she says that my idea stinks. Can you really win?
