So... I know I read somewhere that its best to best at the end of the regular season/just before the playoffs (if your team makes it).... However, I thought I also seen something more recent that was saying that you wouldn't be able to boost just before the playoffs... Could anyone please give some insight to a new player like myself about boosting? Thanks Much o.

Wait for as long as possible to boost. The lower level you maintain throughout the season, the more XP you will gain overall.

However, after level 29, it doesn't matter, since XP gain becomes static.

nah if you boost at lvl 22 right away, don't you get 4000 extra Vet Points? (4 VA) and only lose out on 411 sp or something?

Ah yeah, forgot that.

Boost as soon as you hit 22 for extra veteran XP.

I'm not sure, but I think the XP loss from boosting 3 levels is quite a bit more than 411.

I saw some analysis, early last season, that worked it out that the tradeoff in VXP gained vs. XP lost improved, the fewer boosts you use to get to 25. The last players I had the issue with started this season at 23, so I let them play there for like 3-4 games until they hit 24, and I did the single boost. Best of both worlds, imho.

I'd be interested in seeing this math.

Here's the breakdown: (it assumes you earn max exp every game this season)

At level 22., saving your boosts until day 32 will earn you 3345 exp and 1000 vet xp this season.
If you boost to 25 right away, you will earn 2934 exp this season and 5000 veteran xp this season
costing you 411 exp and earning you 4000 more veteran exp or 4 more veteran points.

At level 23. saving your boosts until day 32 will earn you 3230 exp and 2250 vet xp this season.
If you boost to 25 right away, you will earn 2934 exp and 5000 vet xp this season
costing you 296 exp and earning you 2750 more vet xp or 2.75 more veteran points

At level 24., saving your boosts until day 32 will earn you 3069 exp and 3500 vet xp this season.
If you boost to 25 right away, you will earn 2934 exp and 5000 vet xp this season
costing you 135 exp and earning you 1500 more vet exp

So looking at this, it becomes obvious that boosting to 25 at the start of the season essentially gets you more veteran experience at the expense of regular experience at a rate of 10 to 1.
