San Francisco Blaze/San Jose Sabercats/San Jose Supercats/San Jose SkyForce

Early History

As can be seen from the header the presently-known San Jose SkyForce has undergone several radical changes in its seven-season existence on Goal Line Blitz.

One of those changes have been the name of the team. The team began as one of the many fledgling computer squads that were handed over to human control back on Season 2. The first human owner of this team would be yogi67 (Alex Martin,) a native of England.

Yogi67's ownership of the team didn't last long, however. His stake on the team existed until Week 1 of the following season when he decided he no longer had the requisite time to oversee all team operations. Thus, the team was sold back to computer hands and it was almost entirely gutted, leaving about five players to continue to the season.

Then a new owner stepped into the fold on Week 2 of the third season. Reggiefrom40 (Jase Schoenherr) is still the current owner and made sure of the team's long existence by investing in team ownership until Season 23.

Soon after renaming the team the San Jose Sabercats after the AFL franchise, GoalLineBlitz Support Staff decided real names were not permissible so one of the administrators renamed the team to the San Jose Supercats. This name was very brief, as it was renamed less than a week later to the San Jose SkyForce upon team vote. The name is still currently in use as the team's official nickname.

While some of the players from Season 3 have moved on, many still remain on the team during the team's eighth campaign.

Season 5 marked a statistical benchmark in that Flash Jordan, the team's nickel blitzing cornerback, registered a record 86 sacks on the season that still stands to this day, irregardless of position.

Seasonal Breakdown

Season 1
Team did not exist.

These were the early days of Goal Line Blitz. Consider this as prehistory, if you will.

Season 2
Nickname: San Francisco Blaze
League: USA BBB #15
Scrimmage Record: 1-2
Regular Season Record: 9-7
Playoff Record: 0-1

Under yogi67's (Alex Martin's) guidance, the team achieved great success in its initial campaign, even tasting the atmosphere of the playoffs. Little did the current members of the team realize this would be the last time in a long while the playoffs would be reached.

Season 3
Nickname: San Jose Sabercats/San Jose Supercats/San Jose SkyForce
League: USA BBB #15
Scrimmage Record: 0-4
Regular Season Record: 0-16
Playoff Record: 0-0

A new owner came on board and a new losing record was the result. Abysmal seasonal records were set as the team only mustered three touchdowns and three field goals during the course of the entire season.

Season 4
Nickname: San Jose SkyForce
League: USA BBB #15
Scrimmage Record: 3-7-1
Regular Season Record: 1-15
Playoff Record: 0-0

Some of the players left for newcomers, but the roster changes didn't help the record much, as it avoided another winless season by posting a mere victory against the newest member of the league in the Ivalice Tactitioners.

Season 5
Nickname: San Jose SkyForce
League: USA BBB #15
Scrimmage Record: 5-6
Regular Season Record: 7-9
Playoff Record: 0-0

This was the season that started the upward trend. Here, Flash Jordan registers a GLB record 86 sacks. The team rides this MVP performance to seven franchise wins on the season, including a never-before-seen four game winning streak. The team's playoff hopes were dashed by newcomer Rocky Mountain Thunder as it dampened an otherwise very bright and successful season by normal standards.

Season 6
Nickname: San Jose SkyForce
League: USA A #4
Scrimmage Record: 8-0
Regular Season Record: 3-13
Playoff Record: 0-0

Just as things were looking up, they came crashing down with the unwanted league swap with a team then known as Dead Broke. The 'Force manages to register a very disappointing three wins on the season, playing in "A" ball for the first time in franchise history.

Season 7
Nickname: San Jose SkyForce
League: USA A #4
Scrimmage Record: 3-6
Regular Season Record: 2-14
Playoff Record: 0-0

Just as the team was expected to improve, it regressed, to a 2-14 record as the competition proved to be too much for the SkyForce to contend with on a weekly basis.

Season 8
Nickname: San Jose SkyForce
League: USA BBB #8
Scrimmage Record: 2-1
Regular Season Record: 11-0
Playoff Record:

The SkyForce is demoted to the BBB ranks for the second time in franchise history and never looks back, as it is undefeated on the season.

New York Grizzlies

Season 2 Came into existance
Nickname: New York Grizzlies
League: USA BBB #8 Eastern
Scrmimage Record: 0-0
Regular Season Record: 12-4
Playoff Record: 3-1

Slaughtered by the Honolulu Hurrican Warriors, same suckers that made it to USA Pro by Season 6. Victora Teabaggers beat up back then as well 16-6, that game was mostly a battle of kickers. Too bad old Huntsville wasn't able to handle us in the post season. Had the #1 Run D and #8 Passing D, #2 Overall

Season 3
League: USA A #4 Eastern
Scrimmage Record: 1-2
Regular Season Record: 10-6
Playoff Record: 0-1

Beat up on the Thundertown Brawlers 20-14, neither team had a running game worth a damn against each others run D that day. Had the #1 Run D and #14 Passing D, #3 Overall

Season 4
League: USA A #4 Eastern
Scrimmage Record: 5-3
Regular Season Record: 13-3
Playoff Record: 0-1

Kicked ass up until someone figured out how to kill our running attack. #1 Running D and #10 Passing D, #5 Overall

Season 5
League: USA A#4 Eastern
Scrimmage Record: 1-6
Regular Season Record: 11-5
Playoff Record: 0-1

Did a decent job of keeping things under control but the same teams who were able to shut us down in the previous season did it again. #3 Run D and #17 Passing D, #8 Overall. This was the final season of the Old New York Grizzlies with 90% of the original players from season 2. During the off-season we merged with the then Fighting Farvas and became known as the Sin City Knights then renamed later as the NYG Fighting Farvas.

Season 6
League USA A#4 Eastern
Scrimmage Record: 0-6
Regular Season Record: 0-16
Playoff Record : 0-0

Basically everyone's free win while letting the team drop back to USA BBB #8. During the off season we decided to start over with the old team as level 1s and bring on a few fresh faces.

Season 7
League: USA BBB #8 Eastern
Scrimmage Record: 1-5
Regular Season Record: 1-15
Playoff Record: 0-0

Seems that Victoria and Thundertown beat us back down to USA BBB #8, and Yancy was finally able to beat us. The only team we beat during the regular season seems to have boosted like crazy, or brought in new players.

Season 8
League: USA BBB #8
Scrimmage Record: 0-4
Regular Season Record: 4-7
Playoff Record 0-0

Don't care about a winning record this season as we're looking towards next season. Planning on getting promoted in season 10 and watching both Victoria and Thundertown getting demoted back into USA BBB.

History of the Victoria Teabaggers since iv owned them.

First season was season 6, no stadium no players and no clue what i was doin. recruited like crazy made a couple of trades and found enough talent to make the playoffs at 9-7, beating out Thundertown in an upset with another upset win over Teikoku. Got killed in the first round of the playoffs as the 7 seed.

Second season was season 7, better clue, better AI and better players lead to an 11-5 record but no wins over any team worth a shit and blew a huge 4th quarter lead to Atlanta in the first round of the playoffs. Also had the famous spat with thundertown after permastoned's account got hacked leading to confusion accusations and some shit talkin from a player who got bent that i traded him cowboyfan. that dude was hilarious.

Third season is season 8, still dont have a clue about what im doin but we now have beast players and massive stadium upgrades on the way. season kinda sucks though cuz there hasnt been one good game all year for us. i guess if thats the worst complaint then we arent doin to bad, there have been a couple of teams to hold us under 100. playoffs? certainly conference championship? most def. title? we'll see. All i know is in my 3 seasons we have never missed the playoffs, turned a profit, are dominating a league, and have a 3 tiered player developement program that will keep us stocked til at least season 18 - literally. again i apologize for havin insanley talented players shredding opposing teams, but we will be gone after this season and you wont be seein us again.

ps - archer, before season 6, it wasnt victoria you were beating, it was the maryland predators and i didnt own the team nor did i play for them, so sorry buddy you've never beaten me. hey at least my CB only had 3 INT's against yall this season instead of the 7 last season right. that my friends is progress.

Only seems fitting for the Hellcat story to come next.

When I acquired the team they were called the Portland Persecuters. (This was season 5) I was low on the list for a team so I was either going to be the last guy to get one or the first guy in season 6. So at any rate I got the Portland squad on day -4 of season 5. I had a reset stadium, 2 million dollar bank roll and (I still find this funny, wasn't at the time) a roster consisting of (1) player. A CPU LB'er whose contract was set to expire day 1 of season 6. I changed the Name to the Indy Hellcats after toying with the idea of calling the team the Indianapolis Speed. I started scrambling for players and by mid season I had enough humans to make a starting roster with CPU back up. Jtrav came to us and was a star amongst the space debris here....We finished 1-15. Season 6 heading in with lousy chemistry and high hopes and a bankroll that would power a one wheeled war wagon I added to my stadium as much as the budget would allow, 3 corners in one off season, I thought , "this is too easy I will have a stsdium built in no time " <-----naive.....we lost over half of our humans and spent until mid season building back up to where we left off, then we were able to add some human back up. We finished 3-13 and I considered it an improvement. Season 7 we now had a small core of talent, I didn't go crazy stadium wise I concentrated on wheeling and dealing for talent. We finished with a rock bottom chemistry but a 5-11 season. We kept a large core of players in the off season and because of work I missed stadium building day, and I was pissed. We improved without having to add more than a handful of back ups, our chemistry was low to start season 8 and we lost a game by 3 that if we could have played later in the year we would have won. we finished 8-8 because of that game missing the playoffs by 1 game. Still it was an improvement. This season kept all but 3 starters, and all but 1 back up. I was able to replace all 4 positions quickly with improved talent and we will be in the playoffs somewhere between the 4-6 seed which should make us candidates for top dogs in the Ocho west next season if the core stays together, and I have no indication otherwise
