I also have a feeling you would have run the ball a lot more if you had been more successful at it.

You can say what you want about TSE, and God knows I said my share in ssns past, but he always runs a reasonably balanced GP on O. I'm otherwise staying out of this, but I'm afraid you're off base on that one.

You don't think they would have run the ball if they were ahead in the fourth? Or if they were picking up more yardage on first down? Our offense would have been a lot more balanced as well if we hadn't been in those situations.

The only reason I even commented is that they came out passing which I honestly don't think I've seen this season, which might have even been one of those fluky things the AI does with the percentages. I did not invite him to try to trash our gameplan or make excuses for his team getting beat.

We are hardly a major culprit for exploiting the power running game...some matchups just demand it be used regardless of the season, especially when you are out-leveled and having difficulties on STs and need to shorten the game.

No, I am 100% confident that he wouldn't have. Then again, I'm at an unfair advantage there from playing him so many times over the ssns. (edited to add an S to ssn)

I really wasn't bashing you. I was just pointing that out about TSE.

Maybe I was taking his name too seriously then, because running the ball when you have a lead in the 4th is pretty much a no-brainer as far as I'm concerned...I'll buy that it wouldn't increase the chance of him running the ball in other situations though I suppose...

And don't worry...I'm not taking this too seriously. Its all in good fun. I'm not one to not comment on a game because it might hurt someone's feelings myself. That basically means you can't talk about them at all

He tends to go for the throat, instead

He usually misses the throat in the playoffs and stabs himself......Sorry I saw an opening and had to jump on it.

Depends on the lead. If you are only up by 7 or less than why would you change your gameplan? Now, if your up by 15+ it is a completely different story.

Difference of philosophy I guess...but at worst if you run the ball 3 times and don't get a first down, you knock a couple minutes off the clock. Its basically the season 8 rushing exploit offense without going for it on fourth and short but it is a completely normal tactic to try to close out a game if you have some confidence in your running game.

Each time you throw an incompletion in that situation you give your opponent a free timeout...I've seen games last like 3 possessions too long because the team in the lead (and I'm only talking about a few points) continued to pass the ball taking only like 15 seconds off the clock for an entire possession.

Hehe...I actually have very little to do with our offense AI anyway except for general suggestions or a play I saw elsewhere that I like. As a DC, I want that clock running...but as an owner I can see the other side of it and no DC is going to complain if you suddenly increase the lead by 7 points.

So is it normal for TSE to send unpleasant PMs after games? To be honest I've had to send a couple apology PMs myself after getting pissed on the forum before...but if I'm going to try to insult someone over this game I'm going to do it in public...what is the point of doing it in a PM?

I sent a PM regarding your posts in this forum, not after the game. Nice try to mislead the crowd. You are full of great tactical ideas today!

I paid you a compliment and you insulted our OC. Though I doubt he took it very seriously...but damn...there is no need to do any misleading.

You have a funny way of paying complements.

I don't think there was anything funny about it. It was refreshing to see a team at least trying to pass at the beginning without being in a passing situation so I said so.

Ok man, well I have nothing more to discuss with you on the matter. Enjoy the win.
