First his link...

http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=1215514

My initial focus was using his SPs to pimp up speed, and train/use SPs on Vision, Agility and Tackling. From reading the boards here (glad found this forum) it seems that Speed/Vision/Agility are most important for a SS. So couple questions.

1. Now that i've hit 48 on speed (first cap I think), is it better to push it up to 60 and train Vision & or Agility?

2. Should I only use Training points on speed and put all skill points to get vision/agility up to first cap?

3. When (no money atm lol) should i look into equipment?

4. What role do Strength, tackling (or other skills) have for a quality SS?

Any general thoughts appreciated. My 'intent' was to have a character who was a run stopper that has decent cover skills. I try and watch all games he plays and for the initial cpu teams he is great stuffing the run (lot of solo tackles not just gang tackles) and he is credited with what seems like a high number of PDs (20 in 7 games this season). I've varied my tactics but can't say i've seen huge difference in performance on game reviews.

I am a proponent of the 60/60/60 club and am doing that with my two safeties. I am getting speed, agility, and vision to the 3:1 cap and leaving them. My veteran safety is in the Pros and am having missing tackle issues and can see alternating stamina and strength to get them to the soft cap after the first three skills. Here is the training:

speed/agility (until speed is close to double cap, leave at ~90% if close and use training to get a 3:1 point)
agility/vision (same as above except this is for vision to the 3:1)
agility/tackling (same as above except this is for agility to the 3:1)
tackling/strength (until strength is 2:1)
confidence/stamina (train these for a good while and this is the time to maybe use skill points into special abilities before putting them into confidence/stamina)

I would add jumping to the post above as more crucial than stamina or confidence, but other than that 60/60/60 is a pretty solid base to work with.

My advice would be to probably work speed and agility first, since they make the most difference at early levels and you'll always need it as the foundation of your player.. but where you go from there, whether you take the cookie cutter approach of trying to be that 100 speed 60 agility guy, or work strength/tackle or catch/jump/vision, that's up to how you want to be known as a player.

You want make some hits, be strong in the running game? Or maybe get a few clutch interceptions and pick sixes? maybe a little of both? Make that decision after you're about 50/50 in speed and agility.

3:1 speed agility ratio?

You have no idea what you are talking about. Please disregard the rest of his post.

You're a funny one. The 60/60/60 club or 61/61/61 club works just as well and saves many skill points for other uses. I have yet to see empirical evidence that shows 68 speed is that much better than 61 speed other than 68-61=7 point difference. What is that difference? One tick closer to the ball? Two ticks jump to the ball? What exactly?

People claim vision does not need to go higher than 49, others say 60, well why is speed not the same? I think it is and when my safeties reach the 60/60/60 club and are working on their other attributes, they will be just as, if not more, competitive than others who went to the 68/68/60 club or the 68/68/49 club.

spd/agl, as a SS you're expected to be a handyman ready to help out at any moment, get those two atts as high as possible, put eqp into spd, then be the guy who is everywhere.
