Which is a better VA for a level 40+ QB? I've got vision halfway to the 3rd cap, and strength nearly to the second cap. Just looking for opinions on which of these has proved to be the more effective route to go.

If you have a good line and don't get sacked much, I'd go with Football Genius.
I know people will say QR has nothing to do with getting sacked but I disagree. Every dot has a Byron Leftwich wind-up if you don't have quick release and in that time you're winding up, you can be sacked . If you would have had QR, the ball would have got out of there much quicker. Basically, that wind-up is nothing with a lot in QR.

Who cares about quick release. Throwing to 95+, Vision to 85+ Strength to 70+, Confidence to 65+ and get every Pass Quality % possible along the way.

Avoiding sacks would only be one side benefit of Quick Release, the main benefit is pass defenders have less time to react to the throw and get in position.

Quick Release: Notice the ball throwing animation when the QB throws the ball. During that animation, the defenders (especially in zone) have the ability to react and move towards where the throw's gonna go. With a poor release time, the throw can take 5-6 ticks to get off the QB's hand, which is plenty of time for a guy to get over and make a play. Quick Release gives the ability to release the ball sooner in the throw without any penalties to accuracy.
Right now DBs can easily pass the vision check required to know when the QB has picked a receiver and started the throwing motion. This means DBs in coverage often instantaneously know when the QB begins his throwing motion and thus start heading toward the targeted receiver before the ball even leaves the QB's hand in most cases, at least Quick release minimizes that advantage.

Anyone else think that quick release has gotten more important now with the pocket collapsing that Bort added or am I off the mark?
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=381219&pbp_id=9231326 here is a play where it looked like the NT actually changed the direction of the ball by hitting the QB during the process of throwing

Strange that is doesn't register as a hurry, the QB is definitely hurried and possibly hit as he is releasing the ball. He falls down shortly after the throw is in the air, or at least his dot shrinks.

I don't think the change to pocket break down is going to do nearly as much to increase the value of Quick Release as it will Pocket Presence and Turn Shoulder (I'm not a big Turn Shoulder fan myself, I doubt I am in the minority either).
The problem with hurries is they affect pass quality. In seasons past when QBs could complete 70% or more of their passes frequently that wasn't a big issue, Quick Release isn't going to do much to reduce the hurry penalty of a throw, it will just let you get that throw off a couple of ticks sooner. That might save a sack or two occasionally, but the passes under pressure are still going to be negatively impacted and thus easier to drop, deflect or intercept. That was less of a problem when good QBs were able to complete 65-75% of their passes, could be a bigger problem now that they complete 45-65%
Turning a sack into a hurried pass is good, turning a sack into a hurried and intercepted pass is not and the passes where Quick Release makes the difference between a throw and a sack are the the ones with the biggest hurry penalty on the throw (you are being hit as you release after all)

Then if your QB has Quick Release and it activates while he is attempting some last second throws that could have been sacks, they would be substantially better.
