I set the AI to HB run route 100% of the time. But he doesn't seem to whenever a blitz is coming through UNLESS the pass play is specified for the HB then he'd run route.

Is this intentional or is it a bug? Anybody know of a work around?

Yea I'm seeing the same thing and it's pretty annoying. Not sure if there is any workaround.

There are some plays where there is no route for the HB to run, same with the FB, so they have to stop in and block on those plays. Your 100% run route applies only to plays where there is a route to be run. It's why in the advanced AI, the TE actually has the option to run route or pass block while the HB and FB have the wording use play default (in place of run route)

There also seem to be cases where the HB has a route, but decides to stay in to block on his own. I was going to post a bug on this when I got around to it.

For example today we ran FB Texas (where both HB/FB go out) 5 times, and 2 times the HB went on his route, and 3 times he didn't. We use "Use Basic Settings" on the HB command and 100% Run Route for HB. Are you saying "Play Default" works more as intended?

Also what Welsh said =P

No, that sounds like a bug then, I'm saying that play default should mean the HB runs a route when there is one to be run and stops to block when the play diagram shows no route.

And Welsh and Yoshi, we are trying - 7-0 so far.

Thanks mike, I think that makes the most sense. That might be the case for some the plays being run.

i hate this idea that if there is no route defined for the HB on a particular play that they can never run a route from that formation

the default should always go to the user, thus if you say 100% route running thaen the HB should run a route on each and every pass play called

if the sim wont let the HB run a route thats not defined then Bort (or whoever) should get the hell in there and define a HB route for each and every possible pass play with a HB in it!
