B Dizzle’s in da Hizzle, 4th Edition, 5/14/08
Hello and welcome to the fourth live edition of “BDizzle’s in da Hizzle” where football reigns supreme. I’m your host, BDizzle. Seizure is with me, a fan favorite most famous for his worthwhile USA BBB #10 weekly previews and power rankings. Hello Seizure, hope life is treating you well. I have a few questions for you to answer:
1. Well, it’s halfway through season 2 of GLB and you’re undefeated. What has been the biggest hurdle to overcome in order to be considered an elite team in BBB?
A. There have been two really big hurdles for me so far. The first was being able to get the right players to join the team. After the expansion it seemed like 75% of players were completely clueless about how the game worked and only paid attention to the owners passing out $30,000 signing bonuses and $60,000/year salaries. I offered a level 1 WR the max contract offer.. only to see what I had to do to get players.. and it was rejected within 15 minutes. It was a mad house after the expansion. The second biggest hurdle has been getting a grasp for making gameplans without any prior experience, outside of the first game. A lot of different variables go into the game and its hard balancing being successful with figuring out how to properly gameplan for your team and your opponents.
2. True or False: The Bombers will remain undefeated by the end of regular season play?
A. False. We will lose at least one on purpose. People hate perfection and perfect people... and we like to make everyone happy.
3. Any comment on your 5/27 match-up vs. the Abomination of the Western Conference? Do you think that they’re a contender or pretender?
A. I think it will be a very good game. I think it is prematurely being booked as the East/West showdown for conference bragging rights. Badlands is a definite contender and anyone who thinks otherwise is being naive. I could care less about their strength of schedule right now. They have shown no signs of weakness and have beaten at least two quality opponents in Santa Fe and The Screaming Snails. They have experience and until someone steps up and proves otherwise.. are the team to beat in League #10. Of course New Orleans has been just as, if not more, impressive so far.. they simply haven't given themselves the label of team to beat in the public eye.
4. How do you feel the Eastern Conference matches up with the Western Conference in terms of overall team uberness, top to bottom?
A. I think top to bottom the West is the deeper conference. The top Western conference teams are extremely talented and I think the middle tier teams would be very competitive here in the East as well. With that said, however, I do believe there are a couple of Eastern teams that could compete for the West title. It's also hard to tell because I am not sure about the boosting situations conference wide. It 'seems' most West teams used the majority of their boosting already.. not sure about some East teams but I think most are either saving them.. or have people who don't plan on it. I could, of course, be completely wrong.. just how things seem.
5. Your team name suggests a certain kind of offensive attack, yet your statistical output reflects a different type of coaching philosophy. Please explain this misconception. The public demands an answer.
A. Haha.. well the answer will be a lot less intriguing than most people think. I chose Birmingham because it's where I am from and I simply came down to two names that I thought were catchy. I found a decent logo for the Bombers and decided that would be the team name I went with. You could also look at Bombers as being a dominate, intense, and dangerous defensive unit who look to 'blow up' their competition.
6. Which came first, the chicken or the egg? And, also, is the glass half full or half empty?
A. *It was the egg.. and without getting really deep and technical.. eggs contain the genetic material of chickens, so technically it is completely impossible to have a chicken without first having an egg.. BooYah! What does it matter.. someone who's thirsty is going to drink it anyways.. and then what do you have? you have a glass.. that is empty..
7. Everyone enjoys reading your weekly Eastern power rankings/predictions. How do you come up with the power rankings and how do you remain unbiased when predicting winners/losers?
A. I come up with the power rankings from an extremely complicated excel formula that I established a few weeks ago.. no.. I simply try to pay attention to all of the teams and games. I then just go off a mix of records, schedule strength, quality wins, and my personal opinion from experience or what i've seen from the teams. I do not remain unbiased when I pick winners and losers. In fact, my predictions are pretty biased. You will probably never see me pick against my own team. The only times I am unbiased are when teams are extremely even and I simply have a hard time picking a winner or if I had no clue about either team in the game.
Well you certainly are an honest and fair fella, Seizure. It seems as though you respect every team in USA BBB #10 and you certainly give credit where credit is due. No doubt about that! Thanks for sitting with me and answering these questions! This has been another intense interview from BDizzle.
