I have the AI set to put an extra CB on the field and blitz one at random. Usually it all works out, but in the play above the extra CB lines up on the wrong side of the field, and the blitzing CB has noone covering his man...

So specify a CB. Why would you blitz at random? That's just asking for trouble..As you've found out.

Usually you get lucky.

So my defense won't auto double for the CB that's blitzing? damn. Just trying out something new in an easy win

Nope. Just call the blitz from the proper CB slot and you'll be fine.
