Would any winning teams not in Western Eurpoe be willing to let me copy their passing offensive AI? I would like to basically see how its set up.

1) Lay out
2) Types of passes called
3) How many times you tell it to revert to basic settings for distance, receiver?
4) Basically want to see what I am doing wrong

I would appreciate any help. Im tired of my offense always being the reason we lose in close games.

To give you an idea of what I am doing and maybe im doing it wrong

I have 5 plays for 1st down

Shotgun Pass - Random Distance (basic settings short pass =0) Random Target (HB/FB plays taken out)
SIngleback Pass- Same
Shotgun 5 WR Med
Random Inside Run
Random Outside Run

Does this look right am I overthinking, underthinking?

If you want to see what you are doing wrong, watch the replays and see what didn't work.
Watch your next opponent's game and see what their defense is giving up and lean towards that.

Shotgun and shotgun 5WR are almost the same thing.

You're underthinking.

You need to set up your AI at least somewhat to be tailored to your players--if you don't have any specific plays then you're not really setting up an offense.

Also, while Shotgun and Singleback plays give more passing options, if you only pass out of those formations, it's really, really easy to scouting against you because teams can simply stack the box against I and Strong I . . . all those power running plays become useless.

People probably won't let you copy AIs because that's like asking an NFL team to see their playbook, but their are good private forums where you can get your questions answered.

Pretty much this. I won't share my AI layout, because I spent a ridiculous amount of time setting it up, but I will tell you this:

I believe I have somewhere around 100 inputs and many more outputs. For the simple part on basic down & distance for "All Quarters" I have the following:

1st & 10 exactly
1st & 5 exactly
1st & 10.5 to 99

2nd & 10 exactly
2nd & 10.5 to 15
2nd & 15.5 to 99
2nd & INCHES to 0.5
2nd & 1 to 3
2nd & 3.5 to 6
2nd & 6.5 to 9.5

3rd & INCHES to 0.5
3rd & 1 to 2
3rd & 2.5 to 4
3rd & 4.5 to 6.5
3rd & 7 to 12
3rd & 12.5 to 99

4th & INCHES to 0.5
4th & 1 exactly
4th & 1.5 to 2.5
4th & 3 to 6
4th & 6.5 to 12
4th & 12.5 to 99

^ Those aren't exactly as they're set in my AI... But that's basically how it's set up. I then have separate inputs for "Within my own 5", "GL offense" and various other special situations, on top of the standard 2nd & 4th quarter settings to control the clock, stop the clock, etc.

didn't know you could specify half yards on the AI.

You can't, but you can set it up so that they overlap, thus allowing the half yard calls to work.

Example:

Input #1 - 2nd & 7 to 10
Input #2 - 2nd & 4 to 7

The higher input is read first by the sim. So if it's exactly 2nd & 7, that input is used. If it's 2nd & 6.5, it's out of the range of that top input, so the bottom one is used - where 6.5 falls between 4 and 7, so that input is used.

O.K. I knew that way......might help clear it up for someone else though. Thanks
