It is also known to help you get up quicker. It should definitely be trained and capped.

Confidence should be up in the 35s to 45s, cap it if you want, but above that there's no significant advantage.

Also, confidence should be the last thing you work on, i.e. get spd/agi up to 75-85 first, 3:1 cap str, 2:1 cap vision, your stamina should be 7+ your level, FS to 7-10, TV to 7-10, SB to 5.

Then it's confidence time.

just play devil's advocate, how do you know that? If it's a positive factor in any play it would follow that the higher the number the greater the benefit.

Every number on the player's major and minor has "positive factor", but the difference between algorithm and a straight math equation is that good algorithm's will adjust to players putting too much into one attribute and ignore the others. This is commonly known as "nerfing" in this forum. Nerfing is nothing more than Bort getting good at balancing the algorithm to prevent players from majoring on a few attributes to manipulate performance.

Now, the complication is algorithms take multiple attributes (and SAs and VAs) into account, and they dynamically play off each other (commonly known as triggering effect.) For example: it's posted before by Bort that it doesn't matter how high your speed attribute is, but if you don't have a decent amount of agility to go with it your player simply won't get to that max speed. (Example: if Bort sets the algorithm that for every 10 speed one needs 8 agility to trigger it, then for a player with 100 speed and 40 agility he's only going to get 50 speed factored into the algorithm because he's lagging behind in agility.)

It takes experience to know when are how the "trigger" works. This is why this forum constantly get different opinions on different things. One player reports a significant improvement when he ups vision from 30-45, but another player reports no improvement by doing the same. One may report significant improvement but upping Tunnel Vision from 7 to 10 and another says no significant upgrade.

This is what makes this game fun, to play around with numbers and figuring out the effectiveness (as what I'm doing with my DEs)

Or, you can bitch and whine about "Borted-DE" like some morons in here and pretend your DE is good when he gets 30 sacks against a gutted team.

Sorry but I will try to get traded into a league where I meet gutted teams all the time.

All against better competition, but sure, glamor in your dominance over gutted teams

my DE is level appropriate for his league. faces equal leveled human competitors and hasn't seen a gutted yet this season...unlike yours.

But one thing that we can all agree on is that a players lvl isn't an exact representation of his quality, his actual atts are a mystery in most cases, but a player who is built correctly can be better then a player 5 lvls his superior.

I would say that the biggest examples of this are probably in the pro leagues since those are the players who were created before the ins/outs of the system were really figured out. Not saying that those are bad players, just saying that "beating" a Olineman a couple lvls above you isn't necissarily a chest-thumping situation (I'm still way happy when ever my guy does it as well though).
