This is a WR current playing on one of the teams I play:

Strength:30.48 Blocking:22.24
Speed:48.16 Tackling:8
Agility:48.27 Throwing:9
Jumping:53.27 Catching:94.27
Stamina:45.42 Carrying:40.63
Vision:41.7 Kicking:9
Confidence:37.61 Punting:7

He also has 10-3-3-2-2 on the possession tree (with CE)

What do you guys think about builds like these, with very high catching?

lol 90 catching

He probably could do well with short yardage passes

could serve a role on a team as a clutch 3rd down receiver, when you have to get like 3-7 yards and know the guy is going to catch it.

how are his stats? but with a receiver like this, he'll never have big stats, but it is more about making relatively few and short but very important catches to move the chains and keep drives alive. we had a receiver on our team last year that wasn't this high in catching, but in the high 70s I think, and he put up the lowest stats of any WR on the team, but he did make some really clutch catches on 3rd down.

That owner knows his WRs role. Add in YAC Attack and Clutch and you've got a regular chain mover.

Guess who gets the balls on the hurries when the QB has to just get rid of the ball? The high catching guy. I would be curious to see his stats. The more high level builds I see the more I think it doesn't matter where your points go once you cap the major attributes, it all just becomes a matter of how the team uses you.

Nice input. That's what I was thinking (logically)
A good position for him would be somehing like 3rd WR or receiving TE, right?

Also, his VAs are 10 on Possession Receiver and 2 in Soft Hands

Most likely.
Which means two pretty good seasons.

I think a build like that would be much better with less catching and more jumping.

Yeah I tend to agree its definitely an interesting concept. If he can afford it maybe buy some extra equipment in something other then Catching to experiment with during scrimages to see how that works .

I dont think he has enough jumping to be effective and went too hard too early on his SAs. CBs with high jumping and agility can easily shut him down.

Zeromus , can you post his stats?

I'm tracking this thread because this is EXACTLY the build I am (or was) aiming for with my WR - and I haven't seen any open builds like this in all my FA scouring.

If the stats just don't show the performance I would expect from a 90+ catching WR, then I may consider a 1:1 catching to jumping ratio - I think that may work well based on the cookie-cutter CB builds most tend to build.

Very high catching can be deadly, especially if the QB sets him as the favorite target.

I'm yet to see a WR with a high catching/jumping split though. *shruggs*
