I have a DE with high speed (80) and high agility (80). I was thinking of considering more on blocking this season to see if it will help counter high agility tackles. I was thinking 60 blocking and 8 shed block. What do you think of this?

Shed block is fine, but there's been no proof that blocking helps the DE despite it being a minor attribute. I don't mind the shed block increase, but multicapping blocking before vision just sounds like a bad idea.

yeah, would love to hear the results. Blocking is definitely in the break block equations (said Bort) but no one has brought it anywhere to level you want to bring it. No one to my knowledge has actually tested it properly.

The problem is those who "test it" build it too early, their blocking is 2nd cap when everything else is barely at cap.
I plan to test blocking as soon as I cap vision, stamina. All my other majors are in good shape and my SAs are fine.

I always imagined it as contested checks- str vs str and agi vs agi- which always left me wondering "What about Block?".

I have never understood why folks assume this...it would make no sense at all really, and is pretty much obviously wrong as you can determine easily enough with some testing and observation.
About the only skill that matches up head to head in this way is speed at the CB/WR position.

This has already been tested in the past. Look through the 33 pages of threads in this forum and see if you can find the answer.

I very much doubt block has a noticeable effect. BiggerBlue is claiming previous tests were done wrong so I am interested to see if he thinks he finds something other than that.
My post about contested checks wasn't specific to Blocking (as an action or stat). We know Bort does use 'contested checks', most recent admission I know of is the 'dragging a tackler' check for how long he can hang on. Be it a one for one, part of a formula or just dot-movement on the field- somehow they're leveling that BLK skill of theirs against your DE. How it is being used is the question I have. Speedy, agile DEs were beating poorly built OTs until they got nerfed. Then OTs started building more mobile. In some way, those 'mobilities' go head to head in the code. That's my point.
