This forum has become a AEQ, and VA dealership / counseling forum instead of what it was intended for. In one of these threads someone suggested stickys be made so Agents can get the basic info without having to post for it. Hopefully this will be the first sticky and we can build from there.
Basics on AEQ and VAs
First of all LBs under lvl 12 have more priorities in the basic attributes that need to be addressed, worked on and established rather than adding on AEQ. This is true for slow and fast builds. A LB's identity ( coverage, rushing, blitzing ) or permanent position (LOLB, LILB, MLB, RILB, ROLB) doesnt take foothold until that player reaches the mid 20's. Basic attributes play more of a role on the characteristics of your LB than anything else up to this point. Learn what attributes go in to pass rushing or successfully deflecting a pass first and build your player in that direction. Your waisting time trying to find that perfect AEQ until you do. Since you can sell them and keep the BTs you've put into them, if you simply must train on intense and collect BTs...pick anything up, it really doesn't make a difference.
Once you establish the LB's identity and characteristics (is prone to FFs, PDs, INTs, creating hurries or sacks) then you can start looking for that piece of AEQ that will amplify your player's proneness. Whether that piece has a SA or % chance is your preference. Both do well when combined correctly with the player's characteristics. Your not going to create a FF monster if your player has no history of forcing a fumble and has low numbers in the attributes that help create them simply by buying an item with 5% chance FF or +1 Monster Hit.
Its not really complicated but involves a lot of patience and a little understanding your player and how the game works. Build on his strengths and your player will flourish and the game will be more fun.
