I’m looking to change my DT's Advanced Equipment. The actual stuff was OK when it was bought but this was some time ago. I plan to use a maximum of two pieces.

My DT is backup for the DT and the NT position on a 4-3 defense.

Actually I have the following three pieces of AE:
Superior Pink Shirt (24 tokens) +4 strength, Make tackle chance +9%
Superior Purple Visor (8 tokens) +3 strength, Avoid fake chance +4%
Superior Purple Gloves (0 Tokens) +1 Blitz SA (actually not used)

I have CE gloves and cleats each with +4 Strength.

Now the shop shows these two:
Superior Brown Shirt $10,000 +1 Shed Blocks SA
Superior Grey Cleats $37,000 +2 strength +1 Diving Tackle SA


I don’t know how much impact the Diving Tackle SA would have on a DT. It might be a good way to stop the inside run a bit earlier an turn some hurries into sacks. Success depends on the importance of the Jumping attribute which is at 14 at the moment but will be trained anyway as I got not much else to train for him. I could max the attribute bonus by using it with the +3 Str / +4% avoid fake visor. Blitz/Diving Tackle makes sense as well but I have to replace two CEs for that change.

Blitz & Shed Block could put some more pressure to the QB as Blitz is arguably the best SA for a DT and Blitz works automatically (unlike Tunnel Vision). However there are no attribute upgrades on both pieces.

I tend towards the visor-cleats mix but would like to hear some other opinions. Comments on the player’s build and where to put the next points are welcome as well (yes I’ll change some equipment from Str to Agi as he’s no longer a pure NT).

If you want to rush the QB, I would roll with the Blitz. Wait until you have upgraded before wearing.

Are these good or you think one with a SA is better?

I expect that you already have spent some tokens on it as the break block bonus is quite high.
The break block bonus is very nice but I would want a solid second bonus on it as well (+main attribute or +SA). If you got nothing else I would keep it and go shopping from time to time until you find something better.
Just my opinion.

Isn't the +3 agility the 2nd bonus? or would you look for a 3rd aspect to the equipment?

Yeah it has +3 AGI... that is a main attribute..

Ok, sorry I totally messed it up. I haven’t seen any AEQ with a bonus of more than +5% so I expected a +5 break block which was upgraded three times.

If these are the starting stats this piece is very good. Maybe I have to look for something better for my DT lol.

Yeah I thought that was pretty good piece...

I have a hard time believing you found a piece with 11% break block chance without upgrading it.

No I have upgraded it.. 3x... Im sorry if you thought I said it came like that.. I even put "currently" that is what the piece has.

I said that because of what copper said, I assumed you had to have upgraded it. I think the main point of AE has to be to find an SA, otherwise it's probably not worth going for the AE over getting SPs for your bonus tokens.
