as has been said though, interceptions shouldnt really be your goal as a player. the agility to get to the play and enough jumping for deflections is usually much more important.

yeah, it def. has more to do with the scheme than the build for him.
that team, as a whole, has an insane number of INT's.
the zone certainly has it's weaknesses, but it can be very effective at creating INT opportunities.
with the right personnel, often times, a player can look open to a QB, when there are really 2-3 guys that could be in position to make a play by the time the ball gets there.
zone gives the guys a chance to do less chasing and more reading the QB.

Just a possibility. One of the other LBs on my team has more INTs than me (4-0). I out-level him and have most of my stats higher and so was scratching my head as to why it was happening. Same personal tactics etc.

At the start of the season I was LOLB and he was ROLB, and we were switched more or less midway through. He got 2 more INTs than me at each position, so it shouldn't be scheme.

The only stat he had higher than me was strength. Which leads me to theorise it helps for picks, either winning the ball in the air or for holding onto it when the intended catcher tackles you.

Suggests strength might be more important than thought.

Actually I have been preaching this for about 3 or 4 seasons now. To this day no one still believes me and gives me sh*t for it when I say it.

99% of INTs these days come off of deflections. Unless its a severely poor QB that is under-leveled.

It's possible, as Strength is a factor into the formula for the Pass Defense scouting bar.

I would just assume pure luck, considering neither your or the other LB has consistently produced INTs in their careers so far. It happens.

Strength has a lot to do with the CB's ability to make a pass deflection that the WR wont have a chance of catching and in the CB's play on the ball radius. So it would prove to be beneficial to a LB also. From a LB's point of view as stated a few times in this thread, the INT from a LB has more to do with the QB's experience and moral/ confidence lvl at the time he's throwing the ball and the LB defecting the ball before INTing it. My 42 LOLB had more pd's last season but he's INT'd the ball more times this season than in his entire career. He was always prone to make PDs throughout his career and enhancing that with a 11% chance PD item this season has caused him to actually grab the ball. Jumping's 42 and catching is 33 if that matters
